Butterfly
Still forming, growing, changing
Inside the protective pupa
Till one day the chrysalis is broken
And a beautiful butterfly emerges
Into the wide open world.

Solo
pupa taps a
pulse
in humid mounds.

chaste cicada quivers in the ground.

sighed fermata
thrills
the earthen chambers.

bare cicada fancies in the strain.

lewd sonata
lulls
the velvet void.

sole cicada chafes his greenest feign.

baffled hall
replies
with no applause....

There are instances in nature that imitate the nature of some humans.
Tis sad but true that...

a mocking bird makes fun of another bird who sings more beautifully

a thorn pricks until it draws blood, but cannot injure the rose

a moth thinks he's classier than a pupa, until the butterfly emerges

a dog chews on a bone but he never gets to enjoy the meat...

Monarch Butterfly
A monarch butterfly in flight looks so beautiful Unfortunately, there lives are ephemeral. For a short time, they are grounded as a larva. The caterpillar transforms inside its pupa. Bursting from the cocoon, they spread their wings. Few thing found in nature are like these things. Robert Pettit 4-4-12 For Gail's "Butterfly's Trail of Kisses" contest

Ka DB cooper sina pupa,
nitaondokea pia muda ukifika.
Daily kukachora kuzuia swara,
bila rwaara bado ninang`ara.
kaka dada mama baba,
nawatakia mengi mafanikio.
nahisi kama Jimi Hendrix,
back in 69 huko woodstock,
ama king Bob Marley in 79 santa barbara.
vibe ilikuwa safi pia,
John Lennon akiwa madison square in 72.
basi tunazidi kwa bidii,
maombi tele ili majaaliwa tufike kilele....

A Song To Wakeup Butterfly
Oh my Beautiful Butterfly,
I want to see you fly;

Why are you resting inside the pupa?
Come on! It's time to wake up;

Don’t be shy to fly,
Oh Dear! Your limit is sky;

We have seen too many colors,
But your’s is so special to us.

Come out quick with flying colors,
I want to see you flutter.

Will you land on my hand?
Or will you fly to see your friend?

No issues about that baby.
I just want to see you fly;...

Metamorphosis
Commenced
as a tiny
egg glued to foliage.
Maturing bondage in a shell
awaits

Larva.
Eating, growing,
full size caterpillar
outgrows its present confines.
Splitting

 Again.
Reattaching
itself with liquid from
its spinneret . Creating a
button.

hanging
little pupa
dieting, motionless,
metamorphosing completely
anew

Cracking,
exposing head
and thorax first. Followed
by legs and golden wings of a
Monarch....

A pupa escapes its chrysalis. ~ A Monarch unfolds crumpled wings. a caterpillar morphs into a butterfly ~ metamorphosis Dual pairs of brilliant orange-red wings with black veins and white spots; crown them kings. And appearing both poised and regal; to bring harm to one; is illegal. (Verse) 05/30/2023 A Monoku, Haiku, and 4 lines of Rhyme Same Theme Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Tania Kitchin
