I have a precarious delusion
That there is underhanded collusion
Which causes a teensy bit of confusion
In the form of a dendrite transfusion,
Poetry, a magnificent conclusion
There is no imagination preclusion.
In my own self-fan-fusion.
Robust that you are, jolly and still
Over trails of yore, folly or drill
Every step you take, slide or drift
Every stomp you make, easy not lift
Precarious it may seem, your plight not in grim
Salubrious in your dream, clarion's call in rim.
I once had a dream.
But living in its shadow
became all I knew.
Then I saw it again.
More glorious than I remembered.
More precarious than I realized.
When I reached for it, it toppled.
Crushed beneath, I no longer see
the dream, the shadow, me.
