inside is free 
of the wind but

heaven’s thousand
eyes clouded 
by lights
although the sun
-rise clouded
delights. 

against cities,
(all like-fashioned):
moon’s bow stretches
dim sky lashes. 

in walls is warmth
confinement,
anger
the winds withhold
comfort not
wonder...

into subconscious realms
of translucid reality

it just gets too difficult
for me to comprehend
as I listen to complaints
from the weak and wretched
as they discuss their peeves
and I not really caring
not really wanting to hear
and being too cowardly
to just walk away...

Lying around in pyjamas at noon,
Wondering, ‘What to do?’
Then scooping and gulping some sludge
From a tub in the fridge –

Until a parent full of peeves, 
aged around forty,
Comes fuming and growling,
Banging and slamming 
Until each glooms
In their room.

Fourteen and forty –
Leaving the cleaning-up
For tomorrow.

Convoluted in the circuitry ...
Lie the tiniest, little tidbits of
Distinction, to drive us to mystery.

They seem to protrude upon our psyche,
Like a reddened thumb, stuck to a hand.
While frolicking along the subconscious,
Looking to interrupt what is planned.

As pets go, these 'peeves' outlast,
Most other thoughts that come in play.
With an enduring quality beyond a
