Love Is Sown

rain pitter patters
flowers open umbrellas
butterflies fliitting

painted parasol
shade luminous dainty dreams
seed of love is sown

I never thought I'd be so envious

more gracious than royalty
she glided through the park
her hair up in a chignon
her shoulders bare
beneath that lucky parasol

Dawn Reigns

radiance through leaves -
no need for a parasol. . .
let the dawn rain down

Parasol

Parasol
Doll like
So perky and pretty
Original middle French word
Fancier than a simple umbrella
Small colorful ones in glasses
Make martinis sparkle
Italian word
Parasole

Delicious Soup

The Soup's a great place to get away from it all From life's wee hassles and occasional hairballs Great peeps to boot What a big hoot Sitting in the sunshine under my pretty parasol

Pink Comes With a Wink

The color pink comes with a wink
  A toothpick and parasol, it's a lady's drink

On a breast cancer t-shirt, spread awareness and think
But on a plain men's dress shirt ~ from commenting I shrink

Broken

I loved you much more than myself losing my self respect!
I know it hurts but you were my parasol.
Evil chanted it's whimsical words I guess.
You have changed I mean it!
It's like broken mirror, can't put it back together

Cicada

By tassel-like tentacles the cicada suck the clear dew,
The sparse parasol trees its voice penetrates through.
Higher position makes its sounds heard far and wide,
It’s not because of the support autumn winds provide.r

Premiere of Persimmon Pureblood

Premiere of Persimmon Pureblood
Pennsylvania’s premiere debutante
prettier than a Parisian parasol
persnickety and powdery
poufy, perfumed, perfectly petite
Persimmon practiced her pirouette
pleats parading petals in a perfect circle

The Pangolin And Penguin

at a patio table
sat a pangolin and penguin
    pondering

and there they pursued
under a parasol
    perusing

diving with questions
delving for answers

they had a universe
in front of them
    unpicked
    undone

suited and solved
by the pangolin and penguin

Sunset

Gilded parasol on horizon's edge twirling
Twilight's lamp shade dying embers swirling
Sun's spent beams with embroidered frills quilting
Patchwork of tinctured gases simmering
Deep red, burnt orange ridges brimming
Violet, creme pastels periphery fringing
Dusk's opaque veil with palling shadows dimming

Umbrella

Find protection under its dome
As those raindrops come pouring down
When the scorching sun starts to roam
 Find protection under its dome
  A parasol beneath the gloam
When those rainy days come around
   Find protection under its dome
As those raindrops come pouring down

Red Flag

You say you're no prince of mine,
but what else could you be?

A hitchhiker in my heart,
a pedestrian in my mind?

Is that you under the harsh sun,
holding a holey parasol?

Maybe you're fleeing
the crime scene
of your heartbreaking.

But you see,
none of that makes
any sense to me.

So I wait here,
for you to appear
on a cream-colored horse.

A Walk In the Garden

A walk in the garden, with a pretty parasol,
A walk in pink blooms, near the terrace wall,
A walk in the sunshine, in high heel shoes-
Among gold, crimson peaches creams and blues.

A walk in the garden, silk dress and makeup,
Like sunset hues, calling for night to wake up.
A walk in beauty, in pretty high heel shoes,
And every direction I turn, the scent issues!

Living Hosts

LIVING HOSTS

rustic lift of mountains beyond the field
                 of wild red poppies, blackbird
                      wings like a parasol

close proximity to the living hosts
      gloriously splattered with
muse’s brush and faeries

Summer Needs Winter

Draped in rain and cold once again

His soul’s memory soaks delight

Embraces nights of stark darkness

Haunted tears dried up by the sun

This time around he is prepared

Mind sheltered by a parasol

Snow covers the window of change

Over the Under

Once I had it all
Told this to my ma
As she let down her parasol
Under the rains the waters fell
Torrential buckets of rain waters
drops,
 drops,
drips,
 drops pouring down rain falls
Floods the city towns
Covered yet empty rain clouds
falls,
 fells,
falls, falling down from the heavens
down
unto the ground
Over the under

Autumn Colors

Autumn Colors

Trees shake old cobwebs from their heads
A kaleidoscopic parade of colors tumbles down
Pretty reds and yellows, parasol shapes
Parachute softly and collect in mounds
Falling leaves that drift and cross our paths
Brought on by climates cooler winds
Leave the trees in all their majesty
To become the magic of the season

Modesty

A floral parasol gave shade
to features sad, but finely drawn,
no laugh lines marked her sweet facade,
a countenance both pale and wan.
She glided by the garden wall
and shed a tear, a wistful sigh,
the blossoms bent as if in awe,
the warblers chirped in sympathy.
I yearned to take her arm, to find
the reason for her dire distress,
but modesty prevailed.
Consumed with unrequited love
my passion full curtailed.

The Harbor At Lorient - With Apologies To Berthe Marisot

Mademoiselle is acting cryptic and vague
By the harbor at Lorient.
With her white dress and parasol,
Her gaze turned aside,
Looking pensive, aloof,
Pretending she wants to be alone.
Feigning introspection; a delicate charade
That only fools the foolish.
The carnation in her hat indicates
A different motivation for her being there,
But mademoiselle is acting cryptic and vague
By the harbor at Lorient.
