Pages of History

I am a Writer
I am a Poet
I am not familiar with physics and chemistry
Will you write my name in the pages of history?

Premium Member My Back Pages

Summertime soundtrack
cause we ended as lovers
kaleidoscope jam
we danced in paradise lost
my September bridge of sighs

Premium Member Empty Pages

Blank empty pages stare at me
as my words pour and drip like red blood
in my tattered yellowing journal to wait, wait

dust-hushed spine-cracked whispers~ words trapped in vellum veins ghosts thumbing gilt-edged tragedies quiet
Form: Cinquain

inherently errant AND evil

The cursing blank
pages held
traces of
knavish hooded

knights riding

forward for the
sake of
scum un-
godly kings.

The Pages of My Life

My heart
My soul
My eyes
My hurt and pain
My story
These are the pages
From my life and
I found the answers
In your sweet glory, lord

Premium Member Fly Off the Pages

    Why can’t we learn beforehand
        life lessons we learn afterwards

     Not grounded in experience
words fly off the pages like birds
Form: Epigram

Taking the Letters From These Pages

The fingers of the sun touched my bed
Breezes from the songs of little birds
I fought like a Spartan my eyes are red
Read like Athenian for my future bread

After the Pages Have Been Written

After the pages have been written
and the book has been sealed,
                     dust will gather as smog;
                              who would unlock it?

Bayt al-Hikma

Bayt al-Hikma

Ancient pages breathe.
Books outlive every throne.
Ink crossed rivers.
The library vanished.
Knowledge shapes tomorrow.
Its wisdom still walks with us.

We Made Love To the Beat of the Pages

We have eternity
Lambent before us
Like a snowflake.

Mortality
A one night stand,
A forged signature.

And the slender stream of ink
Slithers along the pages we found.

We write!
Form: Verse

Turning the Pages

time has come
to follow the way
life threw me

to settle down
in the aftermath
of fifty years passing

many goals, dreams
unfulfilled by hardships
a lowly soul, beneath them all
sad

Though difficult to accept, we all will age No matter how healthy as we turn each page It's still a great joy It can't be destroyed Memories stay with you at every stage

As I Pillage Inspiration From Your Pages...

quiet & understated
two words waiting
at the bottom of the page
crouched as though
some other they might chase away
or bar from the path
tonight
i am once again allowed this trespass

Pages

pages in a letter

read or unread

are like voices in a room

too soft to be heard

or memories

too dear to be forgotten

somewhere in my heart

on a shelf they lie

your loveletters

Pages Full of Love

eyes smarting with tiredness,
not registering on the words I see,
heart aching with heaviness,
looking at the last letter you wrote to me,
pages full of the love, that wasn't to be.

Pages Under Lead

4 bullets over ownership
desecrated uterus
and hands
they aren't mother's

by stuffed bunny toy donated hope
at child
to whom God has forgotten to make a bed

simply
it makes you less human
browsing through

The Pop-Up Pixie Pages

A golden griffin flies right
off the sheet,
A purple unicorn prances
near your feet.
A friendly sea serpent
splashes in the blue,
While tiny pixies blow
sparkles over you.
Close up the book until next
time they meet.

The Pages Turn

The rain, it rains.
The snow, it snows.
Each season comes;
Each season goes.

The pages turn,
The years slip by,
While people live
And people die.

It’s never changed
And never will,
Yet poets do
Describe it, still.

Premium Member Trapped Between The Pages

Trapped between the pages
that I hope are never turned

Caught within a game,
who’s rules I never learned

Mindful the time is coming,
I’ll receive just what I’ve earned

I’m ripe with understanding,
It’s too late to be concerned

Book pages riffle dance
Feeling its steady glance

Thoughts soaked up
Dreams turnup

Time doesn’t halt
Nostalgic vault

Somber fingers
Forehead expression lingers

Outside world nonexistent
Substantially existent

No blank pages

Some golden pages of life
forgotten in ruthless time,
Still waiting to be inscribed,
thoughts given an ink.

Empty Pages

My life's great sorrow,
no namesake to carry on.
Pages of my book empty.
Shards of my glass heart,
pierced deep into childless grief.
Drown in my sea of regret.
