Premium Member Lewd Louie

Lewd Louie came from Windy City
he went straight for the nitty gritty
	got fresh with Margo
	who told her man Beau
who kicked his a** with rhythmicity

Kansas City

There once was a young man from Kansas City
Who considered himself very witty.
For him others wrote a little ditty
"He jokes with bartenders,
snaps his suspenders,
jokester no less, that’s his nitty gritty.”

Grinds so fine. Keep steep steady. Catch ev’ry nitty gritty. Screen darkness dregs. Press, add water. Start ebonic eddy. Stir ‘nilla cream, bright and witty. Chat with friends so fine. Keep.

Premium Member Pretty Beautiful

Here's the nitty-gritty:

I don't need a city
Or the vote from some committee
To tell me that you're pretty
That fact is indisputable
Wholly irrefutable
The truth of it immutable...

Bluebird, you are beautiful!!

Premium Member Had I Not In My Idling

Had I not in my idling
neglected you;
neglected morning carol;
neglected evening requiem;

neglected the unforeseen
whimsy of words,
the nitty-gritty of my
most solemn soul,

sooner could have been
release from bondage,
levee collapsing revelation,
my poems.

Premium Member Gentle and Loving Heart

Gentle and loving heart is all.

It tames the stormy days’ wildness toll,
Subsiding the seemingly incomprehensible
Unfairness of the wild world numb contretemps.

Yet

It flames the homely wee joy,
Intensifying the nitty-gritty fathomably
Gift of everyday serendipity godsend--
And only when
the gentle and loving hearts (under)stand.

Gratitude

Without end your memories
I'll always remember
lots of fun you've shared with us
leaving marks
In our life can't be erased.
Allow me to say for the last time
my greatest gratitude.

Saying Thank You is all I can do
all the nitty gritty we
laughed about and lessons learned
In our hearts will never perished.
Ride your wheels and peacefully
embrace God's love.

Premium Member Being Forgiven

Being Forgiven Miracle Man 7/23/2022 I refuse to linger my days in pity, but am remorseful for things I’ve done. But when it gets own to the nitty-gritty, I have the power to change nary one. For my past is like a read only file, It can’t be changed, what others see. So this morning, in thought, I reconcile, while praising God for forgiving me.

Premium Member Maybe Fantasy, Maybe Hallucination

I paint a whimsy in my mind,
A quiet place and pretty,
Where I can simply dream
Child-like without the nitty-gritty
Of the city's less then kind imagination.

In reverie, the gurus say, the mind
Will try visualization, the machinations
Of the Universe, or so it may seem,
But in truth it's just an aberration
Of Reality's unending hallucination!

He's an urban redneck
Likes his George and Madflex
He's country and what's next
Metropolis with crops

From barn to the city
Farming in the nitty-gritty
He's surrounded by concrete
Too many suburb plots

Sticking to dirt past
Agricultural for the future
He's certain who are unsure
Aware of hidden costs

Plowing his own stake
And modern, make no mistake
He's in tune to the horizon
Up until he drops off

COPLA NUEVE: This Bad Guy World

Bad Guys multiply on their own
Faster even than the microbes:
They fascinate

Though they cannot thrive on their own
They need to feed on Good Guys’ lobes:
Just hibernate

Summer solstice up to Winter
Let them bask fry in howls and scowls:
Feel not pity

Left to themselves they’ll waste blunder
Watch that hip swing from bum to jowls:
Nitty-gritty.

Premium Member Glug glug glum

I swim in sorrow, deep and wide,
Against a tide that won’t let me hide.
Each thought is bleak, each stroke is weak,
My breath is weak, I cannot speak.
If I stop to think, I start to sink.
My eyes glue shut if I blink.
I'm slunk in a glum, glug slug of gunk.
Stuck in the oooze of blues, I'm sunk.
My arms grow weary, my eyes are teary.
My fate is bleary, dreary, weary.
For grief is a sea, land-locked in self pity,
In which we wallow, until we swallow, nitty-gritty.
