An Albino Girl In the Neighboring Camping Lot
Loading my car
trying to hide my covert examination
Fine features accented by heavy white brows and lashes
Colorless, shining hair
Such a strange and elegant beauty
What is it like to be so different
Yet so lovely?...

River and Lsd
The flowing river, water
smoothing over pebbles, moss,
the gleaming reach of leaves
fanning the stream, and
beyond the river, beneath the
neighboring plain,
Meaning
echoes in the warbling cry of
sparrows: the river is more
than it's purpose. The river is
Life....

St Helen Eruptions
Volcanoes erupts in
Three dissimilar ways

Spines on its hills
As gases run low

Lava down its slopes
Total destruction in its path

Fiery bursts of black ash
Burst through its mountain top

Ash fills the air with murky dust
Form miles away

Lava destroys neighboring life
Plants, Insects, animals, and people alike...

Lugubrious Lake Lurching
lugubrious lake lurching
salient waves scrunching
forth feigns fought
inky blue bought
crimson crest cupped

bounty birds pulsing
pelvics pruning perches

drunk daedal dances
of nocturnal nymphs
fostered in flips

Butterfly Thought
There was something I wanted to say to you.
The thought of it came
Like a butterfly in a garden –
Seeking a bloom
It flitted about,
Then alighted momentarily
Before being distracted
By a neighboring flower.
Departing unsated
It followed the wind
To the next thought garden.
There is something I want to say to you.
What is it?
What is it?...

Premium Member Corona Virus Pandemonium
Super Bowl cancelled.
NBA games played to empty stadiums
Virus has caused havoc
Corona incites fear

America is abandoning her entertainment fields
Las Vegas is bereft
Disney land and Disney World have no tourists
People are at home locked in houses

Neighbors are not neighboring
Churches and schools are closed
Pandemonium has erupted
End of Times...

Premium Member A Saguaro Cactus
A saguaro cactus… am I
at times with white flowers, red fruit
melding variety into my surroundings

Beautiful, poised and strong
bathing in radiant sunlight
forever reaching toward the sky

Shadowed by neighboring dunes
absorbing the fast setting sun
proudly standing on my patch of desert

A saguaro cactus... am I
housing & feeding those near
watching over all who call this land home...

Premium Member Cow Decorators
The cows hung polka dot curtains on the fences
It was the latest fad
And when the cows in the neighboring paddock
came to look they told them, "Only cool cows had curtains !!"

So they went to find striped curtains for their fences.
Non-conformist cows steered clear of fabric curtains at all costs
but had the very latest in electric fences.

Barbed wire was archaic and - barbarian.

The coolest of all cows
had no fences.

A Red Bird
A red bird, motionless
A cardinal rare to my city eyes
And almost indistinguishable
From it’s neighboring autumn leaves
Crimson and rusty,
Feathered with impatience
For winter.

A red bird
Silently invisible
Aside from a telling
Twitch, or a quiver, or the flexing of wings
The blink of an empty eye.

A red bird
Enviable and unenviable
And all to itself as it
Considers not a thing
Except whether to take flight
Or stay perfectly still....

American Tailspin
Mini malls copper distortion
Forgotten parking lot meters
Store front greeters grimace
The straight narrow beaks to blend
Except when starlight offends wanton monkey binge

Give me bling to amend my shine
Never resigned but to revv up these hips
And feature the status rings of neighboring chinks
Chaste you never bought my fool

I was still scrubbing service
With the Lafayette oyster muddle
While we huddled from our body heat
Blocking out the mutual perception...

One Night Stand
one night stand of

smooth & absolute

dark

walnut

finish

(once soaked & lathered in

varnish, no doubt)

sits in the corner of the bedroom

reminding of the

madcap,

turbulently unbridled &

dare

one

might

say,

violent

pillow fight

had between two laughing teenagers

bursting with

energy,

in the attempt to drown out the

uncomfortably

cacophonous

sounds being produced by

two

consenting

adults

engaging in rough sex in the neighboring

apartment....

Poem Written In a Dark Room
When all the lights go out
The house is filled with endless beauty
Still the window face when open
Song of stars plays in the heart of darkness.

Neighboring lights are like one
Strange artist, great painter
Painted walls in a strange picture
Tireless is painted with huge labor
Long walls of gloomy darkness
Abstract you are in his hands.

Pleased with the beauty of darkness
Rubbing the beauty with the beauty of darkness-
Light up the light of darkness....
