Memento Mori
we are mere travelers
through this plane
who we are
what we posses
are sands
through the hour glass
memento mori
we are already gone
to God
who waits at the end of time
carpe diem
live it
love it...

A Dream
--------------------------Superego: Memento mori.
--------------------------Id: I will remind him of it.

I had an eerie dream:
I saw a skull in sleep.
It lay on a tomb brink.
“Mine”, I gave a sigh deep....

One day, someday, man will awake.
He will find the time of his mistake.
He will turn and cry at his defeat.
On how he’s made this world so bleak.
Yes, he will cry & try to make amends.
Yet what’s done is done & tis the end....

Premium Member Upon the Death of My Brother
At the end of this past night's dream, I came around the corner and saw into the kitchen, where Wilum was doing the dishes. I stood a moment paralyzed, realizing he was a ghost, as he turned and smiled at me. I said, "Oh. You came." I strode forth and hugged him tightly, and woke weeping....

Nostalgia
I look upon this weary ground as my bare foot touches the holy soil why is this? We no longer bound we love ourselves… and we became foils some fight for money, some fight for glory but I will always fight for memento mori

Our Stories
We had our beautiful fairy tale
But it is becoming grey and pale
Its magic is going to unveil
And what is left is just a trail

Now, I know your story
Its beginning, its end, its history
So I can only say: `Sorry`
We must face our memento mori

However, I have plenty of time
And a path which is mine, only mine
It is very precious and sublime
Because I can sing, I can breathe, I can rhyme!...

COPLA VEINTE : This Bad Guy World

Expose the wiles of the Bad Guy
He’ll stoop low and use stratagem
And if he fails

He’ll cry foul play and devise ploy
Hold himself out as the rare gem
The World defiles

If you succeed in nailing him:
He’ll say pro patria mori
Or some such god

If you then let him play victim
You’ll fall right into his hands free:
Like him be sod

An End
The end of a tale
Makes feelings of dread
You now feel pale
As the conclusion is now said
Terror is now alive as
Realization hits you hard
The old past and present has
You hurt and on guard
The end of a story
No need to say bye
Because you remember “Memento Mori”
“Remember you will die”
Death is expected to be the price of life
So peacefully you go away, no longer in strife

Written on April 19, 2020...

Random
I crave harmony; yet I exist in chaos...
My insatiable passion for the unknown, for the world me pushes me to madness
Like a phoenix, I am reborn from the ashes of my own insanity
I am learning how to destroy the chains of the past
how to step forward into darkness
without regrets
Taking risks is my new motto
Memento Mori to hold me strong

Don’t live with death by your side

Live so death can find you alive*

*African proverb...

The Price of War
Their mangled and broken bodies return home in flag draped caskets. Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori while a band plays patriotic hymns for their services rendered and a choir to give them a voice. If I may be so bold to say that I see no sweetness in death nor the acclaimed gloriousness that lyrical poets have penned. what I see is sugarcoated rationale for warmongering dolts. I see no glory in that. Mortem est pretium bellum.

Momento Mori
a smile upon a young girl’s face
as she plucks a rose from a garden bed
hair filled with Queen-Anne’s-lace
a crown of daisy’s adorns her head
no sooner plucked then left for dead

though an honorable thief
with heart as pure as gold
these aren’t the flowers of O’Keeffe
whose features won’t grow old,
petals will droop, decay, mold

to watch a flower wither
is an honest thing
she kept the crown with her
memento mori she could bring
as she planned redemption in the spring...
