Sculpture

a monolithic rock,
the patience of a sculptor,
belief of people,
battered & bruised,
with time, sand & wind,
nonetheless captured for a lifetime..

Humanity's edifice shouldn't be built with monoliths but with myriads of well-placed stones!

Come Saturday Morning

She had the biggest pyramids I ever beheld....
They were deep purple, monolithic stones; honey
Suckle rose; nurturing, her prose ? Aside love's rhymes
A joyful chime when kissed, of sweet sublime; and what is time.

Sad Detritus It In Eight

Sad Detritus It In Eight

Sam Adams looked back
at the lost loves
Failed opportunities
And monolithic blues
That he concluded
Was the sad detritus of his life.
He sighed and went out
To the Cosmos bar for another drink.

Love from two ends close and fix themselves into a monolithic bond.

Endoscopic Freedom

Are they in tune?
I close my eyes
This morning, my monolithic saga of ongoing shopping bags, on and on
And
This very morning.
They are not me, I am not them.
I learn to be
I learn to have
I learn to say

To be
To have
To say.

They. Are they in tune?

Premium Member Look Up

Towering
As towers do
A monolithic mass
Fills the canvas and the room
Green glass mountains
Deep and dark and without reflection
Draw you in and your gaze

Up

To a thread of eclipsed sky
Where burning
In silhouette
Clings a raptor
To its man made crag

Monolithic Skin

Grand emotions
Monolith
Sending my soul
To the dark abyss
My store of strength is
Paper-thin
Lying beneath
Monolithic skin
Reaching upward,
I dare not try
To touch the obelisk
Shining high
The substrate of my soul
Is dark, and small, and
Still. It folds
Into the darkness of
Silent space
Monolithic obelisk
Gone….not a trace.

A Call of Creation

A call of creation.
Brilliant white ice
a tower of monolithic
crystalline purity.
Broken shells sharp
like razor wire around my mind.
Empire of dusty spires vast in scope
reach, scraping against
a dark sky.
Blackened stone mirrored
windows conspire.
Birth cracked crimson
incandescence Crystals.
Will leave shards in mind scapes
of oblivion white like dreams
let loose on black stone…

Metropolis Iv

She walks ancient canyons
twisted steel monolithic spires.
Racing high her memory clouded
gray sky leadened in pain.
Like someone quietly loosen their hair
Let storms gather along a deserted plain, bring…
How her hands clutches as lightning gathers
Like ravens at a murder, sing…
she rises to meet the rain
From the cold steel day
Light delays in the canyons
of a cold iron metropolis
Metropolis…!

Vanity Nemesis

Within the mendicant monolithic mirror
The fraudulent faces that are never nearer
For in the whimsical wonderland of Alice
Parasitic pretenders in the pompous palace

As we listen to the pretentious preachers
We give long life to the loveless leechers
For the masking mirrors regrettably reflect
Flamboyant fantasies of life’s nemesis neglect.

Premium Member Hoity-Toity

I was walking hoity-toity
When pride tumbled to the ground
And despite its monolithic weight...
It feathered not a sound.

I stretched upon a bended knee
But my efforts were surpassed...
I found the weight... did dissipate
As it reversed to blackened ash.

I stood there for a moment...
Not sure what had turned the tide.
But if one must drop a deadly sin...
It's best to start with pride.

O monolithic bones - life magnified.
In Millennial mists what gravity defied?
While you who shook the earth have turned to oil
Somehow we can't forget your great turmoil
And left to probe the mystery in our psyche
Of how and why you disappeared from sight
Can wonder if Earth's forces changed against you
And plunged you to extinction overnight

If memory of our fear would disappear
Leviathan bones proclaim, once you were here.

Premium Member The Night Shift

Don’t know
that I ever looked
forward to sunrise—
days just seem to come
and go, like desert flowers
and dust-devils, tumbleweeds
ripped from their arid rest:

safe in my shared crevice
with other baked eyes
I watch the spiraling tails
trying to escape the heat
(a monolithic trance)

snakes, scorpions
and myself
we keep an armistice
not to hunt one another
till walking, slithering,
crawling, back into
the night….

Premium Member Advice for Beginners

a note to my younger self

Never trust a love that rushes into
moments unaware of sacred things like
dappled sun and birds at rest in high tree
tops orchestrating springtime’s soon debut~
never trust a love that thrusts its sharp spike
into softened flesh to possess the key

that opens innocence to roguish rot,
that seeks to lock you in a cage of psych-
opathic greed and maniac decree
of monolithic sacrifice, give thought;
