Separation's glory

And missteps..

And

Seem the reality

With nothing

Projecting..

Not knowing

Their stardom......

Lacrimosa
A tear
 a flood of emotion
 a salty cleansing
 of mistakes and missteps;
a weeping in anticipation
 an ocean tide of mourning
the ebb and flow of living
 and dying to existence....

Resilience
It's like being thrown into a dance,
  without even knowing the steps.
It is your one and only chance,
so you curse all of your missteps.
Your heart beats out of your chest.
As your resilience is put to the test....

Occasionally Feelings Are Bridges
Thoughts
are bridges...
 occasionally fragile,
 occasionally
delusional...
Feelings
are vacancies that
the sea of life
lick, later
drains...
And we
missteps,
we were looking for
shelter,
Islands
cuddling...!...

Go Back Erase
go back erase
paths taken in vain
go back wipe slate clean
of mistakes made
go back dissolve
moments of missteps
made that have lead
to this present path
press the delete button
on the past press rebut
on this existence...

Regrets often fester in the background,
missteps and mistakes held in memory
each and everyone
 should be let go.

That was then
and can never be changes
and
this is now....

Dance Steps
Starburst-pink fingernails
painted for her first dance.
A stomp, a pirouette.
All the missteps of chance

is she, a foolish girl.
Is she a foolish girl?

On this platform of lights
she’s featuring a pose –
turn, turn again, and turn,
turn, turn – a compass rose....

Hit Rock Bottom
hit rock bottom
fell into a whole
of one's own making
created from years
of mistakes that
have pilled up
atop one another
creating an emotional
cave in creating a
grand canyon sized
whole to be constructed
within the land of
the past self's missteps...

A Memory
Memory
 becomes the reality
 of all that was.
The hardening or softening of the arteries of the heart
that place where love grew or died
in the errors and missteps of our lives.
With sleep,
 dreams revive
 visions and images form
 true false memories
putting everything to right....

Most days, my thoughts
Are consumed by phantom pugilism
With things that once were
But long in absentia.

I re-trace the missteps,
That became teaching tools,
In the grandeur of life;

My unspoiled moments,
The fourth dimension has purloined,
Leaving me to mark time
With no pronounced purpose....

Mediocre
mediocre
existence
fell into
it without
noticing
it was
happening
fell in a hole
of my own
making
created a dull
future through
past missteps
made
did not
understand
the future
ramifications
of my actions
at the time
if i had i would
have not made
may unwarranted
decisions...

Resentments Stain
many things
have became
overlooked over
time
many things
have been
overshadowed
covered with
resentments stain
years of misunderstandings
years of misrepresentation
years of missteps
years of unmended mistakes
have all accumulated
a top one another to
create this valley of
emotional estrangement...

Clumsy
Clumsy in my missteps
And clumsy with my words
Tripping over my own feet
And now tripping over yours

Clumsy with my quick words
And clumsy in my steps
My venom tongue will sting you
And can take away your breath

Never said I’m graceful
And now you know it’s true
Can I dare forgive myself
This dire crime of wounding you?...

Make Past Mistakes A Friend Written: by Tom Wright 1/7/2013 I’ll fret not o’er those items, That I’m powerless to amend; Nor mark I time with those, That has long laid in retreat. For my missteps of yesterday, Can surely become my friend; With this accumulated knowledge, I’ll lack a propensity to repeat.

circumstance
led to happenstance
five short years ago
we gave love a chance
to intertwine us
in this intriguing dance
slowly at first, no missteps
nice and easy, not too complex
the tempo changed to a sultry slide
feelings rose that we couldn't hide
passions grew, bodies complied
six years later, four kids sleeping
by our sides...

Tears and Missteps
My words the result
  of the times I’ve lived
  not a classroom exercise

My feelings all paid
with the blood of my fears
  not a rambling diatribe

My trail has been lined
  with each tear and misstep
  to mark the way ahead

My life a memory
  telling a tale
—whose direction my soul has led

(Villanova Pennsylvania: November, 2018)...

Premium Member Why Does a Spider Have Eight Legs?
Two of them are for the steering wheel;
To drive unsafely is to be a heel.
One is to make penciled calculations;
To make missteps is to spoil relations.
Two more make amorous advances;
Based on calculations, he has good chances.
One makes careful notes, oh so detailed,
So, one day, his memoirs can be retailed.
Two are needed to solemnly pray
That a baby spider is not on its way....

Today I climbed to the top of the mountain.
I rested there, and looked out over my life.
I didn’t expect the path to be so hard, I thought
There would be places to rest along the way.

I looked long at my life below…the twists
And turns, the successes, the missteps.
The afternoon filled with “what-ifs”
And old memories…joys and tears.

In time I’ll put my head down and sleep……...

Facing the Future By: Tom Wright 8/1/2018 The place we’re presently found will be scant, And our future is about unknown change, That might, or might not, enchant. But yesterday will always remain the same, And learning to accept what is and will be, Is a most important part of the game? Our missteps had effect on each of the three, God wants us to let go of what was, And exercise more faith in what will be.

Unentitled
inexhaustible days and nights
always solitary
forever despondent
incessantly wretched
countless years have passed
nothing changes
older but no wiser
still making mistakes
taking missteps
confused, baffled, sometimes bamboozled
has smiled, laughed and pretended
to be all right
no one looks real close
no one sees that she is
continually fighting back the tears
never knowing why, but always constant
relentless unwavering sorrow...

Hit a Wall
hit a wall....
on the path of
growth
hit a wall....
came this far
but now it seems
as if i have
hit a wall....
external factors
are holding me back
no longer internal factors
are to blame
hit a wall....
past missteps are
tripping up the process
past mistakes are
causing waves within
the sea of change
hit a wall....
can not seem to
be able to jump over
these hurdles any more
its getting harder and harder to
do so
hit a wall.......

Early Missteps
On that last unsuccessful date
he had entered a hotel
through its revolving doors…
missing the right turn, the precise gap
in which to step forward,
he staggered rearwards onto the back glass,
then bounced, like a jack rabbit
into the foyer.
She, of course, coolly witnessed
this untimely comic entrance.
When he sheepishly handed her
the crushed and bedraggled roses,
he knew that he was definitely not
getting laid that night
and possible ever....
