The View
Today I climbed to the top of the mountain.
I rested there, and looked out over my life.
I didn’t expect the path to be so hard, I thought
There would be places to rest along the way.
I looked long at my life below…the twists
And turns, the successes, the missteps.
The afternoon filled with “what-ifs”
And old memories…joys and tears.
In time I’ll put my head down and sleep……
