a planet in Andromeda

light years away
inhabited by androids
mining camp
Some desire angels' wings
to fly up to the sky
Busy mining gems down here
I've much to do before I die
Mining And fuel companies yearn
For all of our forests to burn
So they can get rich
But there is a glitch:
Climate Change won't wait its turn!

Mining, panning gold treasures
Jewel covers rocks pleasures
Fossils of dormant brown doubles
Captivate earthen brothers

Do you intimidate yourself…
If you do
You need to go back to work
Mining the fear
Destroying your ego
Intrepidation courting truth

Over there in the West,
Sun rarely sets,
Three thousand miles,
Social media smiles,
There's our Oz mining industry,
One power-that-be,
Pacifist lives here,
Way too much Uranium, no cheers!
I ran into a man who was mining
clouds for their silver lining.
And for just a smile, you could buy
an endless supply of good cheer from this guy
to keep the sun in your life perpetually shining.

all that glitters is gold..

The Stake

Love, the heart bets,
if not without regrets,
will still prove, in the end,
worth the light we expend
mining the dark
for an exquisite heart.

The US must generate jobs
And Petroleum Inc. wants mobs
Of workers to toil
Mining more gas and oil
But from the green future this robs
Is drilling the place to invest?
Can fossil fuel use still attest
To progress desired?
The car culture it sired
Drives Earth to a state sorely stressed

Feel his heat
Given a seat
His door is opening
He's only hoping
Don't be moping
His color isn't taupe
Don't give him a rope
That's not his soap
Reborn a phoenix

Get your fix

Grow as Nature does around a human mining operation
Oil you hair, open your eyes wider, ears softer... roll heart over diction
Dry your tears, give broken heart to Dr. G O D, Jehovah Rohfikaa, Elohim

Broken hearts can mend, do not rush to hate or declare an end, stay a friend
star shattered shards like broken glass
falling outward as time and mass
floaters in the eye of night
mining poetry infinite
retinal dancers, prancers,
mute slivers without answers
star shattered shards like broken glass
falling outward as time and mass

We found him!
Here we go,
is he lost?
or is he standing there,
Staying still
Who he be?
He stayed right there
He once was with me
An honor my friend
A will of gold
Mining deep
In a pit of disease
is he blind?
Will he see?
That died with me
We found him!
There he is,
Where did he go?

Silent stands
The winding gear
The pithead sealed
Five and twenty year
Miners no longer toil
With honest dignity
Coal now comes
On boats across the sea
Silent stands
The eerie monument
To stubborn arrogance
And bad judgement
Rust abounds
As far as you can see
The mining gone for good
That’s Scargill’s legacy

Buy your coal mine canary
From Ivanka's Canary Shop
You'll know you bought a bargain
When it does The Canary Flop
Tomahawk missile launches
Ensure a mining boom
So canary songs can linger
Like when Elvis left the room
So buy your coal mine canary
(Ivanka's are the best)
Knowing birds and colliers
Shall find eternal rest!
A consortium for interplanetary exploration has conducted
the first ever mining operation in Mars, using robotic
automation that unearthed many valuable minerals and
uncommon elements from beneath the red regolith.
Scientists are not yet sure if for future Martian
colonization and mining activities they have to breed
an AI race.

For pages worth a dog's ear,
a crumpled work of lace,
we search for golden phrases,
mark their special place.
We stifle in library tiers,
churlish book stores,
coveting their treasures,
mining their aisles,
enduring for gleaming words,
to redeem our souls.
Monastic cells our Eden,
we monks who scour scrolls.
Pennsylvania summer
In the coal mining patch
With crickets, mosquitoes and
Children racing sprinklers
Beside closed castoff mines
Like matadors with bulls;
The faded old grandmas sit on the porches
Lethargically fanning
With Sunday's church bulletins
Trying to create the breeze God forgot
As they prop swollen feet on an old kitchen chair.

I was in grade five when we moved up north to a remote miners' town.
Even my memories are dull. I escaped as soon as I could ~
never looking back
harsh inclement land
