How Many Cats Does a Ski Lift Hold
How many terrified cats can a ski lift hold?
The cats were mewing so big and bold.
The lift was shaking, swaying to and fro
“Meow Meow!”, the cats cried, “don’t let go!”...

kitty cat Christmas Tree
Mewing and meowing commenced right away
The second they built a kitty cat Christmas tree that day
Yawning and sleeping happened in every kitty slot.
Some of them fell off their risers, it happened a lot....

Dragon Watches Herd Girl
Dragon keeps his eye on herder girl who cares for the sheep
He pretends to slumber, but he is in no way asleep.
The sheep are heading up the mountain, it is ungodly steep
He hears the little ones making mewing sounds; one makes a bleep...

Hungry Momma
You slipped in the door
Loudly mewing, calling for food
You had a litter on the way
You stole our hearts and brought us joy
Those three sweet little fur balls
Brightened my days
We found them all homes
Away they went
To brighten other lives for a season...

Sisters
how can we be fifty, fifty three, fifty two
we were just little girls
sitting in a circle on Sundays
kittens hidden under our dresses
their mama
mewing to find them
giggling in our safety
my breath catches
when I know
one of us will die first
will I have to look at you in the coffin?
God Help Me...

I do not know?
Rip
Ripped apart a shadow
as the shreds
passed through my idle fingers
They turned to blackened wine
dripping on the tortured
tarmac
Its gentle mewing
whispered
is the abyss
ever empty
but nothing was there to answer
echoes arguing who came first
and the darkness insatiable thirst
betrayed by the light...

SENSING and ENJOYING
I am watching birds ,
flowers in garden,
field with glossy grass.
grasshopper hopping.
kids playing on ground.
I am feeling
the gentle breeze,
warmth of morn -Sun,
freshness of dawn.
Kids giggling.
Cat mewing
Birds chirping
wild blooms
Jasmine

Revealings
Revealing’s
I had to bury a friend today
kill them off in my plot.
I thought he was a rooster but
he was quacking like a duck.
O' Great tiger; You too have deceived
me. I hear no mighty roar
only the mewing of a demented
pussycat with a dubious mind.
I had to bury a friend today
who could not decide what he stood
for.

Mother Love
My fingers drift across the small head
resting on my shoulder.
caressing the fuzzy down
pausing at the soft spot,
while I wonder at the
miracle of creation.
The sweet scent of baby powder
mingles with the smell of milk
on my shirt.
Soft baby babble reaches my ear
Then the whispered mewing of early sleep.
Limp with drowsiness
My baby slumbers....

What Can Be More Hopeful
Newborns are born daily, still magical, enthralling us
With their kittenish mewing sound
snuggling into our fat shoulders
Pies, cakes, and pastries are made
by bakers at four a.m.
Humming as they work,
anticipating the happy excitement
of people who want a fresh donut at six.
Two-year-olds are laughing full out,
Seven-year-olds are asking for their own unicorns.
What can be more hopeful than that?...

Path
Age by comprehension's save
nor failing, nor compassion's grave.
I only fail, I only stave
and then to scoring, am un slave!
No better, boring to deprave,
no asking why, consigns not brave,
the self determined thence appraised
to knowledge minding, is least rave!
It is the doing, that I crave
the soul cast mewing, wisdom's lathe
that building risk the crisis ~ have
I own not, but contend . . . . . the path!...

Scary Halloween Cat
Scaredy Halloween cat doing a wicked cha cha cha.
Showing off her petootsie in the eye of a crow’s caw.
We watch her dance, and some laugh with a ha ha ha.
Of course these are the ones that are now yelling ma ma ma.
Scaredy Halloween cat is full of tricks galore.
She has them oozing out of her ears, racing out the door.
We see her jiggling and wiggling, mewing on the floor.
Some of us are terrified of her, others totally adore....

Three Little Kittens
Three little kittens who lost their mittens were mewing with a sigh
Don’t worry, kittens, said Mr. Smittens, Santa is on his way by.
Santa hung up some cozy warm stockings and put the kitties inside.
They loved their new home, it was a great place to hide.
During a snow storm and a mountain land slide,
They stayed in their mittens, and none of them cried.
Let’s hibernate, suggested a smart kitten named Clyde.
Great idea! Said his sisters, and they hunkered down inside....

Spring Wedding In Catville
The festivities were enjoyed by both sides of the aisle.
Such mewing and meowing, we had not seen in a while.
They make a gorgeous couple! They are beautiful! A yell.
Scents in the air included catnip, lilac, and a tulip smell.
A spring wedding, what could be better? The mother of bride said.
They threw all kinds of rice and flower petals on the couple’s head.
The groom was pleased to show off his new bride to everyone around.
A prettier wedding in Catville cannot often be found!...

The Lady Down the Lane
The lady down the lane,
was a grandmotherly type,
whenever we walked by
she would always wave and smile,
an owner of at least ten cats
each roamed the neighborhood,
appearing at our doors and mewing,
because of them the mice were fewing.
One day the lady down the lane
no longer smiled and waved at us,
her rocking chair sat empty on her porch,
a family member did a welfare check
and found that the lady died in her sleep,
as she was counting cats and sheep.
