there are
merciless
words that shatter joy
falling with tears of farewell
as sorrow’s wayward ghosts come fleetingly home

A Smart One

Merciless and sharp
You're not afraid, simply smart
Defensive on time,
An equal, you'll consider
To make your walls twice thicker

This Merciless Heat

This merciless heat
smothers the earth
with air-less wings
It creeps in by degrees
stifling life's breeze
gives Nature short shrift
until it lifts

High School Football-Favorite Sport

Under the lights on Friday night.
High school football starting to ignite.
Merciless to everyone.
This is war, not for fun.
Winning state is a beautiful sight.

Unbridled Desires

We ought never give in to our unbridled desires

for

soon they would turn into our merciless tyrants

Hot Summer Day

The bed of the brook is parch and dry
Summer sun is merciless
Blades of grass wilt brown
Memories of rain are distant
Still is the earth in the heat of day
Shimmering haze bewitches sight

Dream's Seed

When merciless grief plows your heart

And unbearable is the pain

Remember to sow your dream's seed

At harvest, you would see your gain!

Prey Or Predator

"Many passengers will aboard your bus, but only the truthful will stay".

Wolves disguised as humble sheeps
Try to devorate the innocent prey
Starting the merciless hunting
Winning with alertness the quarry

Your Word My Lord

Your Word,

My Lord protects me from the merciless winter

Of human malice

And

Would help me endure, till the coming of spring,

Your Love would bring!

A Pioneer's Prayer

When frigid winter winds roar
out among the lifeless trees
and nature is held captive
inside a merciless freeze

I pray to the God above
I hope he’ll honor my plea
to keep you safe from all harm
and bring you back home to me

The Kill

It's to be expected
this time of year, mid Winter,
a merciless wind straight
off the bay blowing
leaves left over from Autumn,
lifting them like dead prey
flicked up by the claws
of a cat reliving the kill
in its remorseless play.

Shouting Goat

I slaughtered a goat
and placed its meat
in saucepan to cook
but to my surprise
he shouted at me;
“You slaughtered me,
a lot of pains I felt,
into pieces you sliced me,
again you place here,
in hot merciless oven!
What is wrong with you?”

The Easter of the Bare Tree

In the March
of the bitter wind,
even the glitter of
the lake at its silver
hour denies its power
in sorrow perpetua
for severed limbs
caught in the yaw
of the merciless saw
of spring naysayers
in need of prayers
for this crucifixion.

This Merciless City

In this merciless city,
There is no place for a love so true.
In this merciless city,
It is a crime to love.
Here, love is considered a taboo.

In this merciless city
A teardrop makes up for a desire.
In this merciless city,
Love is playing with fire.

The Nightingale

By the twilight of the uncaring moon, the
Nightingale warbles a haunting tune,
as I stare blankly at the merciless moon
hoping to death that it's grip takes me soon.
And as all that I wrought lies in ungodly ruin,
the Nightingale warbles a tune.

Dear

DEAR !

Once you won my heart !
       and walked away merciless.
       Dear ! Won’t you repent ?
How could you forget or how
        could I accept barren life.

Footsteps On the Stairs

Dark Terror Creaks and groans Trepidation Merciless sea winds Unrelenting shrieking Cold with fright under duvet The stairs move with heavy footfalls The door handle moves, I'm rigid with fear Familiar voice informs 'it's a foul night'.

Turning

The roaring flames of burning hopes
Mirrored in your teary eyes
The evill gaze of a merciless devil
Burns down the man inside

Weightless ash of a forgiving heart
Flies toward the hollow sky
Boiling rage and lust for vengeance
Laughing through your helpless cry

To Rain

In the name of growth

you burn me down

merciless flames lick the meadows of me.

Where the green grasses grew

and spring was once a promise

there is only the memory of comfort

now smoke interrupts the clouds in mid thought

and reminds the skies

to rain
