Notes About The Poem

WISDOM'S TRAIL

If the narrow trail of wisdom you seek, my son,

And not the broad highway of insouciant life,

From merciless suffering you must never shun

For there endure the truths that make the spirit rife.

You expressed a truth both of us have written about many times, a truth that is timeless. As flutes we must be carved before making music, ceramics must know fire - not my original thoughts. We (poets, etc.) will keep writing about this truth because people are out there who still need to grasp it. Love your pen ... CayCay
