I Watch Me Burn

People are making
movies, music-
They are living
their fullest lives,
living a dream.

I am ruining mine

Not On a Monday

Hate tapioca?
Me too. Vile yellow-ochre.
At best, it’s mediocre.
I’m no-one’s joker -
an even-handed broker –
but Monday? What a choker!

My Alligator Loves Poker

my alligator loves to play poker,
he's a lot of fun and quite a joker,
because of that sly grin,
he always wins,
and my card play is just mediocre.

Mediocre Man

There once was a man that was lackluster
Who's life was one giant cluster
Writes a suicide note
He slits his throat
Blank stares are all his family can muster

Taste, Middling Mediocre

Words that do not speak to me
Fine poetry may very well be

What Is Good Enough

Who sets the standard?
Who accepts this? We all do.
What is good enough?

My 'good' is your 'bad'
My best is 'mediocre'.
What is good enough?

What is good enough,
Is your best, your very best.
That is good enough

A Word of Advice

God forbid that I should offer a word of advice
On how one might make a mediocre poem sublime
Or to suggest that fewer words might as well suffice
Tell me once and you’ve no need to tell me twice.

No Pendulum

fly through
all dimensions,
the scale
is broken.
mediocre is lost
in corner.

my name,
is the only
constant.

vital is mind,
a game of hide
and seek.

seek until find,
art is a chime,
blow and you shall
hear the resonance
of
time

Emotions Running Wild

Silent confessions
of things we don’t mention;
my emotions run wild.

Mediocre possessions
with damning silent confessions;
his emotions ran wild.

Is it mere reflections
of the things we never mentioned?
Our emotions are running wild.

Wildcats

Wind within their fur
In jungles, Savannah’s, nowhere mediocre
Lazy they are not, for sure
Dragons of their own right
Cats crave the WildThing fight
At night these angels hardly sleep
Tread during day, the feline will creep
Such is the WildCat a’neat.

Religious young mind destroyed by violent computer games

The day that Armageddon came,
he thought the entire thing was kind of lame.
Nothing but the noise and smoke of a fiery battle,
and people, left and right, bloodily slaughtered like cattle ~
not much different really from any other mediocre computerized game.

That Is Wrong

No wonder you're all sad.
They've stolen your childhood and replaced it
With homework and grades. They don't
Let you dream any more, they crush it
With the pressures to be mediocre yet
Pretend they want greatness from you.
That is wrong.
That is so wrong.

Too Beautiful

A heart too gentle
A mind too deep
A beautiful soul
Forever asleep

Eyes full of sparkle
A heart full of love
Now shining brightly
From heaven above

Always too beautiful
for a world so mediocre
Your peace brings us comfort
But without you
We’re broken

Lets Play

Why all these games?
Lame excuses
from a mediocre dame!

Okay!!

We can play,
I've won this contest before,
you attention whore!

Score!!

Despite hesitation she's at my door,
at four, in risque lingerie.
I'll feed into this charade!

well played!!

Poly-Ticks

Poly-Ticks is Greek for " Plays with Dicks",
Whilst all carries on as before,
Stop! A moment please, I insist,
Name me one worthwhile person in that whole crowd,
Cite a single act of which they can be proud,
They're mediocre, half wits who haven't a clue,
But do you know what's worse? They rule me and you.

Mediocre

mediocre
existence
fell into
it without
noticing
it was
happening
fell in a hole
of my own
making
created a dull
future through
past missteps
made
did not
understand
the future
ramifications
of my actions
at the time
if i had i would
have not made
may unwarranted
decisions

PERFECTION

   Perfect is a distant goal
       Perfection exists,
We realize it very distant ...
     Better than we conform
     in being apprentices,
     Improving the imperfect ...
We are still very mediocre ...
We will be more mature, better,
     When we accept it
      No despair ...!

Borderline

("In the Beginning There Was the Word and the Word Was Good", 2019, original pen and ink)

Borderline

I’m only borderline
Dabbling in
Mental instability
A fan at first
Opening a portal
Eventually possessed
In my own way
To create
And create and create
But on the border
Is only mediocre

Habitation

Clear days of old,
Antebellum.
Not too fancy,
Mediocre.
Bright color seen
Perfect warm nest.
Young harmony
Child fairyland

Secondary,
Tall pine in back.
Conspicuous,
lone pompous rose
Toxic ivy
Marigold patch
Null pottery
Stream overflow
Taste pure water

Ordain infant
Adore always
Wife trustworthy
True nuptials
Man unyeilding
