Let Us Drink In the Sunshine
Let us drink in the sunshine
From a cup of globe mallow
As would one of palatine
Privilege beside God’s throne.
Here’s to another springtime.
Here’s to hope for tomorrow....

Sequence-Ridings Ramble
sea buckthorn in a dense hedge screen
between ceanothus shade green
by a trickling stream so shallow
willows shadow flowering mallow
stone-bridged hamlets nestle in the dales
ancient walled fields along their vales...

Mallow
Long, low, laden spurs
of bright pink trumpets
lean and languish
shading the grass beneath
that place the greener
for its covering
Above, a bee's incessant hum
perfect pink promises
waving high
against still blue cloudless sky...

I do not know?
Loss and Faith
the bones of this love
have been resurrected
green are they
but only of mold and mildew
leave my bones in the earth she said
seek the mallow marrow
reach for the softly beating passion
that opens closed buds
find me there...

Peaceful Prater
The pop corn patter of spring rain
slathering the landscape
curling the fern fronds
closing the dandelion’s ruff
gully washers
speed through stone stream beds
marsh mallow yellow flowers
the lowlands and a misty
burgeoning peace settles over
a fresh May day....

Days Dreamy
Days dead are dreamy delightful,
I linger on labyrinth lanes-
and flowers flourish fanciful . . .
magenta mallow and marsh monks.

As I Said Before
AS I SAID BEFORE
Flights of fancy
colour my eye..
A terracotta
speckled sallow
cochineal
in flaxen fallow..
A bluish buff
soft yellow
saffron shadow
upon mallow.
Flights of fancy
colour my eye...
A mosaic gold
ultra marine
on bone black
umber sanguine.
An olive lind
carnation citrine
reddish red
on earth green.
Flights of fancy
colour my eye......

Pink Beauty Exposed
Beach rose
The blessed shall say
What a joyous day
My Lord beseeched
This day at the beach
Musk Mallow
Watched them grow
Yellow daylily
Caressed immediately
Discovery, a butterfly to be
Look how this miracle spoke to me
Love procured
Secured
Visit
Wild tulips
Strong and undefeated
Change proceeded
Faith within
Where it has always been
Hearts may recall
I chose love above all...

Summer Seen
Dutchman's pipe,trumpet vine
Virgin bower,shrubs divine;
Beauty bush,bright blue bean,
Climbers high to set the scene.
Bamboo,broom,laurel bay,
Lavender scent lasts all day;
Bush clover,russian sage,
Azalea taking centre stage.
Elder,myrtle,bittersweet,
Perfumes the hazy heat;
Privet,peony,prickly heath,
Ivy,holly in seasonal wreath.
Jasmine & jews mallow,
By a trickling stream, so shallow;
Sea buckthorn to screen
Ceanothus high ,shaded green....

Behold the Marvelous Wildflowers!
Behold the marvelous wildflowers!
How they boldly carpet a sloping glen –
Our gift from Earth’s seasonal showers.
Hardly is the desert recognizable
Come March to an untrained eye when
Spring has announced herself in full
Except for occasional saguaros –
The perennial observers to this annual display –
Perched on the precarious ledge they chose.
Penstemon and globe mallow are in glee;
Even the palo verdes celebrate
By showering the ground with yellow confetti....

Across the Seas of Time
Pine not for the times of yore
and the voices not forgotten
They’ve sailed unto a distant shore
to a land naught misbegotten
They’ve traveled over the golden seas
to a land with choicest fruit
and left the land of mallow lees
and the melodies of lute
on the vigils cliffs we stand
neath the hot and steamy sun
holding hearts within our hand
to those we miss now gone
