Mission San Luis Rey De Francia

California's riches mission.
White brick structures simply glisten.
Great spread ranches, nice addition.
Wine and cattle.
Peacful life with no bad friction.
Reins and saddle.
Form: Rhyme

Milk

If milk could kill
We would all be dead
But Luis Pasteur
Hit the nail on the head:

"Witchcraft may kill
By subtle disguise
But I have the cure:
Its just passed your eyes!"
Form: Verse

Mission San Luis Obispo De Tolosa

Mission raised at place of great bears.
Meat was given easing tribe's cares.
No man seen in savage tone swears.
Neophytes all.
See them lining mission stone stairs.
Nine short few tall.

Off to the the Cevennes
This trip was not made in heaven,
Travels with his donkey was a bind-
Fame for Robert he was yet to find
'til treasure on an island came to mind

Cute love Evah

She eyes me shyly
She avoids my caress gently
She beckons me Luis come on
You know that me Eva-ever you'res
She is Eva-ever on my mind my one
She is tall dark pretty and gracious
With a name with connotations of mulla

Eternity

With a heart so big
and love so true
i miss him so much
and he misses me too
hes so special to me
and he knows that i care
ill cherish every moment
and kiss that we share

-Spencer Coggsdale dedicated to Luis Arizpe

Perils of Love

I walked down a road called love
why didn't they warn you my soul
that the road is full of booby traps
With all manner of untold perils..
You my soul would be captured
never to be ramsomed again.

Treasure all that me am
Walk away from me did
Said of me just a human
That she could nay love
That am allowed to feel
That i could yes console
That she be ever human
Hard of form ever be us

The Spiritual Broker

They fall over themselves
Rush to tap on the blessing
Urged on by the holy man

Wallets are turned out
Blessings are decreed
Souls upturned await

They study not the word
Preacher has a direct line
To the creator and maker

A Lovers Quest

Warm beady tears
Trace their way
Down her beautiful chin

Warm hearty smile
Lightens her essence
Prompted by his kisses

He still doesn't understand
Why she cries like she does
Content he offers a reprieve

The Temptress

Her smile and eyes
Relay an open invite
Dressed to ensnare
Her looks leave them
Openly ogling
None of this is accidental
She claims she does this
For herself not for them
A spider’s web made
As a lovely reclining bed
For its lovely owner
The seductive spider

Memphis the Fish

Memphis the fish wanted to be a whale
Went to theater to see Luis Buñuel
                                    He married Juan Simón's daughter
                                              Invited Harry Potter
All went to Hogwarts to eat sleep and swell
Form: Limerick

Seduction

The transparent black muslin veils drop,
Macabre tattoo's over her body,
Supple she displays her grisly curves;
Phobia transforms in nude expression.

Slender move yield to new perfection;
Hear her heart beats of satisfaction.

Paranoia

The cat was looking at him funny
His house had invisible cameras
Refused he to partake of food
Choosing to lock himself up
Eventually they came for him
Put him in a straight jacket
One couldn’t help but feel..
The unnerving chill in the air
As the shrill siren came to life
Delivering him to his new home

Love For the Brave

He locked his heart away
Swore never to give thought
To sweet nothings
Not to be-fooled
By promises of love
A zombie he walks
The land of mortals
It's his soul
He locked away..
Sometimes it does call
Out to him.. once again
Own me and find joy
He ignores it..
Then goes on acting
Like all is normal

Omens and Wings

Random thots
Two hornbills
On a grevillea tree
I look at them eat seed
They soar noisily onwards
Towards the next seedy tree
Send pigeons I had asked Of
Hornbills problems am reminded
There is no washing your hands off
No pigeon just a couple of noisy hornbills
Resting on one neglected grevillea branch

The Night Does Not Turn Off the Imagination

In the folds of the hills
Where the concern lies
And houses are put in the inclined land

The old lady, Manuel's mother
Of Jorge and Isabel
Lived Jaime and Isabel
Lived Jorge and Amanda his wife
Lived the widow of Roberto
The widow's teenager
lived Felipe and Luis
Lived Alejandra
Until the February fire.
Now they live in another fold.

The Crack

He hates the sessions
The therapist
Desperately trying
To have him conform
To the accepted
Societal mold
Yet
He chose his path
A long time ago
Now
They deem him
Broken
Yet
Time and again
He has to bend over
Betray logic
To accommodate
Now
The result is an
Hairline crack
He can feel
The pressure
Building up

Tears and Grace

If I were to shed mine tears
And the angel of mercy
Unbeknownst to me
Would honor them
With a torrent of rain
And streaks of thunder
Troubling the heavens
But heralding a rebirth
If I do shed mine warm tears
Offer me a reprieve Lord..
And promise of glad tidings
Days of joy and merry..
If I were to shed mine tears
A visit from thee I desire

If You Love a Birdie

Of what use are high ideals
For they seldom mean little
To the one you so hold dear
Of what use sweet nothings
If they can't keep her by you
Of what use is her love
If she chooses to walk away
May be a drink will wash away
The lingering memories of her
A broken mirror image is better
Than holding on to shrards
Shrards of vanity and hope
The train trembles the earth
Let bygones be ooh my soul

Too Simple Terms

TOO SIMPLE TERMS

SIMPLE TERMS

Absence of all, somewhere I am,
At the infancy of the well measured.

I’ve tasted the honey,
But don’t know how is made.
I’ve constructed a shack,
Without plans or foundations.
I’ve wondered how the river flows,
While fishing with my bare hands.

I look from below at the work of the greats,
Knowing so well I’ll never be there.

I think to myself in too simple terms.

Star On the Eagles Shadow

The coppers alive in time to tame star
Cobra-cobrae and the eagle screeches
The silver eagle screeches once more
As the star falls on his feet -then flees
Then flees from the hand of the law..
They pursue not for he was on duty
The eagle screeched just two times
For the star is on the eagles shadow..
The puma squad has been activated
The silverstar now the silver sentinel
