The Lazy Long-Haired Shelf Packer
A lazy long-haired packer in a shop,
Lent against a wall to have a quiet stop,
He felt a scraping on his crown
Waking from his nap upside down,
Someone was using his head as a mop....

Hippocampus
You must tell what I am when I tell you what I am not!
The area where a red giant swims? That I am not!
The funny fish with the head of a horse? That I am not!
The University with long haired students? That I am not!...

Long Haired Ponytail
Abigail Kirk lived in outback town Burke,
A hotel receptionist, she had a slight quirk,
Her rather long ponytail stretched to the floor,
After a few years it had grown much more,
She sold it to ten bald men and retired from work....

Capricious, a long haired
Classical girl, long legs
Casually looks, eye
Contact, fiery young man,
Clearly hormones aflame,
Confidently walks with rose
Converse, fait accompli!

Cool Kids
Hot long haired boys
Skating around town
Being the cool kids

Short haired boys
Walking around school
Always the cool kids

Young, dumb, and popular
All the cute guys
None that I could never get

Skating around town
Smoking joints and cigarettes
Acting like they are the cool kids...

Not To Be
long haired blue eyed doll
in a shop window displayed
the child yearned for it

the mother noticed
her face showed melancholy
not enough money

the big doll stays put
she took her sad child by hand
looking back crying

at home she daydreamed
the mother baked her a cake
the girl smiled and ate...

Premium Member Such a Pretty Bathroom
I had never seen such a pretty bathroom.
Sculpted flowers on the wall were oversized.
Light dainty touches were found in every corner.
Scented exotic toilet paper had a lemon fragrence.
The air smelled like cinnamon, and I could breathe in here.
I stayed as long as I could.
My aunt's long-haired cats could not get in
And I am allergic to cats....

This is an unusual write for me
'cause the title came first.
We shall see where it goes.

Blows
is a loaded word ifya think on it.

Having thought some
it goes
that without blows
there'd be no

us

or them

or me or you blowing whatever clarity
we can get, whether through charity
hilarity
or long-haired hippy freak bed-ins

to realize the thing we've named
purpose....

Premium Member Maid of the Sea
Water born maid
Sensuous siren is she
Torso of woman
Tail from the sea

Scaled shape
Naked to the waist
Long haired siren
Men long to taste

Mythical babes
Enchantment of men
Lured to love
In her forbidden den

Are they Atlante-an beings
From a forgotten past
Or a species outright
Or an evolution past

Star
Star was a Cali
Dusty and long haired
Mature when we met
You could say that she’d ‘been there’

This was her third home
Each one a full lifetime
Why any would give her up
Is crazy in my mind

She was stubborn, haughty
And chock full of ‘tude
But oh so lovable
When in the right mood

The old lady’s now gone
There were no sad tears
She brightened our world
For 28 years...

Premium Member Dreamtime: Purgatory
The laundry needed changing
Impossible in the house I was trapped
Long-haired pot-smokin' hippies
Cluttered the hallways, impeding my progress
Laughing and blocking my movements

Arms full of clothes

The way I saw it, I had to get out

Rushing the streets I sought refuge at the
Laundromat way down the street

Finally free I finished my laundry chores
Content I had shaken evil influences

Leaving the window open

Letting fresh air in...

Bam
A long-haired rocker-looking dude,
In black from head to toe,
Sat near me in the terminal
With several friends in tow.

His t-shirt showed off all his ink,
I couldn't help but see;
A picture of a pistol sure
Intimidated me.

He might have been the sweetest guy
And gentle as a lamb
But his tattoo was shouting out,
"You bother me - and bam!"

We show the world a side of us
So people will take note,
Though rarely think we'll pop up
In a poem somebody wrote....

Premium Member The Girl In the Flame Red Dress
In a forest clearing
Floats a long haired girl
Flame red dress
In this misty world

At her fingertips
A fairy so white
In this misty clearing
Shining so bright

A small deer
Walks with her
As if to turn
To confirm she's there

In the morning i wake
From my slumbering sleep
I open my tent
As if to seek

Will i see, a long haired girl
Floating along, wearing a flame red dress
Or was i in another world
I can only guess

On the Roof
as brave strong smart
kind long-haired
comfortable unhappy creative
warm encouraging inspiring
memorable

who writes with abandon
lives with abandon
and no plans
late is on time and schedules -- ha!
the nerve of suggesting I'm
the one who is crazy

call me every letter of the alphabet
I'll give you a word for each
one and count the freckles
like stars
on children's faces
and wish each
one were my
child freckle alphabet

soupy sky with clouds and
it's raining hard today....
