I glimpsed a funny sight the other day;
A cactus with a mindset of its own,
Which seeking out a horizontal path
With comic singularity had grown.

The poet,with a self-reflective eye
Considered this quite unexpected course
At times she too had wandered from the path

Today I am the inner glow,
an impenetrable light source,
a globe behind my navel.
My personal Sun rolls out
lighting the way
and warming all
with an intention to pray.
“Allow my light to arise and cause a great shift.
Allow my light to arise an ever abundant gift.”
As I speak this message and awareness
The Sun comes out from its secret space.

Dependable light source
The birds sing your praises
With fervent joy of course

Fall follows summer now
Season of slower pace
The farmer puts away plow
Rural life a different race

Winter brings very own challenge
With a chill all around
That sun keeps on rising
Even the birds slow their sound

Then one day Son triggers
An awakening to those resting
No longer is it winter
Spring's voice is calling...

Inside rafters of my house
But bats ran them off
Then the skeletons came around
And the bats all flew away

Then the pumpkin man
Would frighten the skeletons
And the pumpkin man
Is quite smart, he scared away
The humans that live in the house

The great pumpkin man
Survives all of these creatures
And also the humans
By the smarts of its light source

The moth circles the light source

I swirl alone in peace.
I prefer to breathe in silence.
I discern a brief distinction
Between destiny and descent

Between satire and dissent.

I dig between the lines
Until the dirt beneath my nails

Like a nail unto my palm,
