A Prickly Situation

I glimpsed a funny sight the other day; A cactus with a mindset of its own, Which seeking out a horizontal path With comic singularity had grown. The poet, with a self-reflective eye Considered this quite unexpected course At times she too had wandered from the path And deviated from the true light source. 26.09.20

A common sight in the Sonoran Desert where cacti collapse from lack of water, but your poem is a winner! Aloha! Rico

I can imagine, Jan! It really made me laugh. It seems that it had something to do with the blinds rather than lack of water. Thanks so much for taking the time to read and comment.

Nicely penned, Wendy, I love the way you compare the course this cactus has chosen to grow with the way we sometimes choose to live our lives. Have a great weekend. John

I burst out laughing when I saw it on my friend's windowsill, John but it triggered a more philosophical thought on my return home! Thank you so much for the feedback.
