Closing the chapter
Letting go
It's a new day
For a new story to be told
A journey awaits
Go forth
Create
Be great
We loved enough to build a
beautiful home.
We loved enough to let each other go.
May we both find peace in
the quiet after.
There is no disrespect in letting go and moving on.
Left unchecked grief can hold you back, and that's when things all go wrong.
Sunset
Orange and red
Slips into horizon
A peaceful feeling letting go
Descends

I’m beauty born of breaking,
a rootless wanderer now~
rolling light through open lands,
teaching you to yield
Is time but a reference
to prey and confound
(while)
In memory eternal
—enlightenment found
(Dreamsleep: February, 2023)
Grimacing faces
With teary-eyed composure
Look out together
At their capped and gowned daughter,
Happy, yet sad, both know why.
Incense meanders
Weaving a bridge of prayers
Here, your whispered vows,
Resonate like dull echoes,
In the canyons of your grief.
In fear of your abandon,
afraid of letting go
Alone and feeling stranded,
bereft—no kindness shown
(Dreamsleep: November, 2020)
The more I let go of
these tiresome soul struggles,
the should haves,
the should bes,
the more it is possible,
to be messy and
alive.
evening is silent
as gust trickles on asphalt
ruffling umbrellas ---
fingers in coiled position
grasp steel rod not letting go
Alas my life has lapsed
as my fingertips lose their grasp
letting go of life
and the many things
I had searched for
but never found
tear wells in sad eye,
gathers weight, until it spills
glistening down cheek
the grief bestowed, now on show
is shed in drops, letting go
watching the kids you care for grow. . .their caring for you before you go

A leaf lets go mild,
moving down through brilliant shine~
no war, no regret.
Even parting has its joy,
when the weather knows its time.
With every new belief,
you have to let something go
Each thought self-entitled
—to reap what it sows
(Villanova Pennsylvania: January, 2020)
we are yet babes in the arms of our parents
always wanting their attention,
always seeking their help,
never letting go
till their souls rest in heaven
Let me in or let me go
Letting go is hard to know
Let me hear or let me hold
Letting love show the way
Please do not walk away
I’ve decided to stay
A single pale leaf
Letting go of autumn’s branch
Falls upon the snow
Sinks into the quiet earth
Sleeping through the endless night.
old leaves are falling
sailing, reluctant, kiss death
the fragile air breaks
healing hearts are letting go
love letters, clutched until now

There should never be
a time of a happiness
life is full of experiences
adventures
and journeys
people need to live
and let go
of their sorrows
Swim like a goldfish;
Just revel in letting go.
It does us all good
To take time to play, relax;
The stressed mind can be stubborn.
I lead and you
watch my back –
or I can follow
humbly taking turns;
It is not about ego
but about the greater
good – about letting go
and letting God....

Life can be a blossom
It starts with a seed
Flourishing and taking root
Enduring and then letting go
