Sprig of a League Full of Intrigue
Had appeared a sprig
Of its own being in league
full of frantic intrigue
Jim Horn
Bronny James’ game
came up lame
demoted to the 'G-League'
~ fawning media's shame
Community college intellect,
Ivy League soul
Questions lie subservient
—feelings in control
(Villanova Pennsylvania: April, 2017)
Baseball National Pastime
bleeds red, white and blue
from soft catch to Major League
fanning sea to see

3/15/17
The Commissioner of Baseball just issued a threat
"This year we may not have major league ball."
~ As if Americans still care at all...
She felt she was in the minor league
Not quite brilliant or pretty enough
Her therapist had to triple dig
To learn her childhood had been extremely rough
Major League Baseball Manager, Dusty Baker.
He's a great character and a playmaker.
In San Francisco, a World Series loser.
In Houston, a World Series Winner.
The crack of the bat
It sails high over third base
The crowd stands and cheers
His first hit ever
He will never make the BIGS
Smiles from ear to ear
with intuition
what we would mention
had premonition
meet God by my ambition
more ammunition
had been big battle
win series will Seattle
league up did rattle
Peter went to an Ivy League school
Now he writes on walls in latin so cool
Pete gets an A+
Not causing no fuss
No fuss no cussing just writing jewels
A loathsome lecher lurks along the long,
Lightless ledge, looking to lure a lost lamb
To lewd license, liquor, and lowlife lurch—
To the lesser lying league and layer.
no lay about souped up speed ~
omnipresent in a different league

Glitter in my eyes,
Towards my dreams
Gives me unconditional strength
To achieve it
Though it looks like it is out of my league
But I am intrigue.....
Major League Baseball announced there'll be no spitting during the game.
Lord have mercy! Baseball without spitting will never again be the same!
(Kein spucken - German for "no spitting")
I am a
white
male
suburban-raised
ivy-league-educated
coddled
spoiled
baby boomer
who
wasn't tough
enough
to make it
in the
business
world
You
now
know me
inside
and out...
He looked so darned small at the plate
For the pitch he just couldn't wait
Got a high fast ball
He swung for the wall
You'r out! But to mom he did great!
For the Favorite Sport contest....
I have a favored FWB,
who is so very magnificently lovely.
When I'm with her I feel like I'm with a super model,
who is walking her monkey.
How did I ever hook up with someone so out of my league?
Tomorrow is Sunday
on TV, NFL-football will be played
No joy or hope in the life
of a widow ~ I mean, an NFL-TV-wife

Listen to poem:
Glib of sunflowers in league with tryst morn,
Drifts the occasion in the versed raised light,
Statuesque envied green hushed in its might,
Pure yellow beams echoed its earthly form.

The league of toadies
Abound
Proffering info to all
Kind
Of revenue streams
Cloaked in a meme
Of free
Domination
Press
Where you want
The pressure
REBUKE
Exploitation
That divides a nation
With white lies
On a dark net
Because you can, should ya?
Unrest of the cause. The
League of vinegar, drunk with
Lavalike flow.
Yesterday will pass away.
Risen Son’s not impressed.
Anger-stew will not stand.
Go forth and love God and thy neighbor.

Preseason Baseball
two-thousand-sixteen
is now underway
oh what fun it is
watching baseball played
the grapefruit league
the cactus league
in Florida
Arizona
who'll make team
and who won't
get in shape
April
for real
play
The incomparable Jackie Robinson
who wore "42" rose to prominence and...
broke the Major League Baseball color barrier
In 1947, and had a 10-year All-Star career

A memory I'll NEVER forget, by crikey
Jackie stealing home, my hero almighty
Eleven at the time
Baseball's ultimate crime
Forever and always etched in my psyche
(With the old Montreal Royals of the International League in 1946)
