Summer isn’t a time
Moving creature south for winter
It’s a place as well.

Repairs on the Labor Day holiday
To drain pipe a-drippin'--no headway.
Frustration is growing;
I think I'll be showing
These pipes to a plumber on Tuesday!

Post Labor Day non conformists unite
even if it means getting kicked off a flight
protesting with hues
still wearing on cue
ivory to cream colored ghostly whites!

On Labor Day Do Not
On Labor Day do not like to labor,
Which is what I told my neighbor;
So will rest;
By God be blessed,
And listen to Trump rattle his saber.

How can it be, dear
Halloween's drawing near
Thanksgiving then
will be just round the bend
Perhaps Labor Day we skipped
or out of July fourth were gypped
All I know is 2021's mistletoe
is still atop our hearth all aglow

Road-trippin' this Labor Day weekend
with construction season in high gear
Not much hope that the roads'll be clear
But thinking positive may just help ~
If not, watch out for my reviews on Yelp
Y'all have a nice holiday now!

Labor day holiday is laughingly laborious
Pack a punch of partying
On one only lonely playful day
Tonight the trio sets the timepiece to
alarm again in the am another
Work and school worry with the rules day

Grook
My heart was seized by grief; for days, the tears would flow.
No blow could be more shocking. My sweet Mama died
On Labor Day, September 5, two thousand five.
Precious memories of her deep love bring me a smile~~
This Labor Day, September 5 of twenty-two.

All day long on the boulevard
Fire escape I elude with attitude
Heat wave of summer's sting
A tepid breeze of spring
I sing of pastels and
Lemonade in the shade
Summer time haze and laze
Yes! Steel drum LABOR DAY PARADE

Where there is sugar
There are ants
During summer days
The ants store much food
During rainy days
The ants sleep and eat
In one long connected line
The ants works in unity
They labor day and night
During war and domination
The ants fight tooth and nail
For monarchy and victory.

Labor Day
A day recalling
Past doing and achieving..
And demanding of decency..
Working and supporting
Abundance speaking..
Ideal colorings bringing
Nostalgic happiness..
Enter the pandemic
With stirrings and fear..
Yet..perhaps pointing to
Our unknown Livelihood:
Abundance unbounded...

Catechism About Catholic Math
Was reading catechism about Catholic math;
Used Holy Water when you will take a bath;
Made mistake;
Breath did take;
Must wash off sins caused by all the wreath.
Can you imagine a pervert administering
communion serving bread and wine.

Labor day is here,
sitting outside as
the breezes gently
blow through the patio.
Blue skies for now,
so quite and still
by this afternoon showers
will be on us.
Labor day breezes
feeling so good on
this day so glad
and free.
Loving this freedom
of wants and wishes
coming true on
this beautiful day.

~ Isn't There a Happy Holiday? ~
Labor Day was born in strife
Memorial Day means widowed wife
July Four ended a bloody revolution
MLK's death sparked violent retribution
I'd vote for Thanksgiving
But given the country's current mood
It seems that giving thanks
For interracial cooperation
Is not viewed as something good

On Labor Day, some stores are closed
And many catch a break
By getting paid for staying home,
No penalty at stake.
I guess it’s kind of strange
That this time off’s a welcome perk
For a day that honors workers –
That is irony at work.
But there always are some laborers
Who never get to stop,
Which includes those gals in labor
Who are just about to pop.

Labor Day 2003
Written: by Tom Wright
9/1/03
Through a lovely Scotch mist morning,
my thoughts spake again to me.
Saying, make of this day what you will,
but in it, be all that you can be.
Enjoy your rose in It's unique beauty,
but of It's piercing thorns beware.
This day shall pass your way but once,
so use it prudently, and with care.

Lyric
He never made retirement—
palmed sallow watch.
Years bled bloodless,
stooped obliquely
in steel mills.
Mother said
he was tired—
so tired
as he drank
last days in liquid slurs.
The mill closed
after his death—
now both rustle bones,
remember russet dreams
of molten metals
faint as old billboards
whispering what once was
but never was
in rust-washed wind.

Got kidnaped from my African village,
tossed on a big, long ship that sailed far away
Stripped of every decent human privilege,
forced to work on short sleep, long hours, no pay
Didn’t come to America on a pleasure cruise,
land of freedom wasn’t nothing but fake news
Forced to work on short sleep, long hours, no pay
Looks like to me, everyday is hard Labor Day
