For Lo, the Winter Is Past An Israeli - Sabra Love Poem For Contest
FOR LO, THE WINTER IS PAST

For Lo, the winter is past
The rains are gone
Glorious are you in the eyes of the sun
Your warmth binds me
The flush dawning world is ours

1974
Israeli jets flying overhead,

Old folk quake in their bed.

Only practice runs they say,

Old folk remember that day.

When jets flew over before,

Turkey had decided to roar,

Old folk remember 1974.

Song Contest
The song contest.
There has been a song contest in Europe
Russian singers and musicians were banned
Which makes the contesting political?
Needless to say, Ukraine won.
One notice Israel appeared but not
Palestine, who was mourning a dead reporter
Killed by an Israeli sniper, but we will not hold
this against the musicians and singers...

Please keep yer cotton-pickin' schnoz out of the Israeli affair, Joe!

Mr. Netanyahu is much better qualified to deal with the foe!

Seems everything you get involved with becomes a giant fiasco!

'Twould be great if you spent less time tryin' to rule the world, Joe,

And seriously consider eradicatin' the chaos you've created in America, Bro!...

Premium Member A Miracle For Modern Times
There was a Jewish man from Andorra
Who singed his rear end on a menorah
   Sparks flew to his feet
   Providing this treat
He sure danced one mean Chanukah hora

Deception
The Deception
Beware!
Her arms around my neck were cold
that was because they were artificial
her eyes shone like a diamond in the sun
yet with a hint of moonlight serenade
and her lips like a damp vulva.
Was she an angel
And imp
Or from the netherworld
A Russian spy
A robot
An Israeli honey trap
A failed suicide bomber
I felt my way perhaps her vagina
was a guillotine
I will not complain
 still got nine fingers left...

The Israeli Election
Another democracy
where the people get to speak
has just had an election
A bitter, bruising battle
with accusations of
corruption and cowardice
have filled the air
I live in the good old USA
Where we are also
gearing up for a bruising battle
Democracy is messy
but it is better than totalitarianism
Who are you supporting - friends out there in the darkness?
Who do you want to win in Israel ??
It matters
Yes, it matters!...

Moses and the Promised Land
MOSES AND THE PROMISED LAND

After wandering the desert for forty years
(Without a word of a lie)
Moses was not allowed to enter the Promised Land.
Tell you why?

Israeli security is the world’s best.
Just you try rolling up to the Israeli border
In a blanket-robe, with a long beard dressed,
A story about crossing the Red Sea in short order,

And absolutely no I.D., no passport, driver’s, say.
Can I come in please? Forget it - on your way!...

Premium Member Lasting Peace, At Long Last
Here's what the world's long been waiting for
A simple, foolproof plan to end Arab-Israeli wars:
One, murder all Jewish Israelis, may they rest in peace
Two, the Jewish State -- its existence immediately cease

In return, the Arab States will withdrew their demand
For an unconditional West Bank Jewish settlement ban!
This plan, every Arab leader will enthusiastically endorse
~ All that remains is to sell it to the Israelis, of course......

100 Years After the Beersheba Charge
Did you hear about the charge
On that faithful day

At 4 o’clock in the afternoon
It was the desert you see

And water was like gold
When the Australian Light Horse

Charged Beersheba that day
Chauvel lined them up

And with bayonets in hand
They charged the Turk trenches down

They won the wells for a long cool drink
Breaking the Ottoman Empire

To start the march to Israeli independence
And a place in the world history’s page.

The Gaza Apocalypse
The stench of death permeates the air, filled with sound of bomb explosions and
occasional siren of ambulances; the Israeli flyers ordering mass evacuation litter the ground; they are good for a poor writer's research notes, on the limits of human barbarism.
The right-wing Jews now talk of settlers' return, and the mask has fallen. Soon the apocalypse will be replaced by a new Gaza, bereft of any Palestinian traces, sufficient cause to continue the mayhem without a pause....

Premium Member Israel Under Attack

         It came as no surprise!
Israel under attack and people have died.

         We knew the new administration,
Has no use for our ally, the Israeli nation!

We write poetry and cry over Auschwitz.
But turn away, under a Hamas attack blitz.

         Anti-Semitism is alive and well!
Hitler must be overjoyed and dancing in hell.

Changes At Cnn
Changes at CNN

CNN has cut its staff
Jewish writers are all gone
Leaving only Arab journalists
There to carry on

I’m not saying they’ll be biased
Or reporting won’t be thorough
But it’s just the office gutted
Was their small Israeli Bureau

CNN used to send out both
An Arab and a Jew
To cover any story
In the mid-east that is true

Now I wonder what this means
When reporting on those scenes
Will we get the truth from the mid-east climes
Or the Fatah and the Hamas lines

Mdailey	2/10/12...

Reflection In August
Recently I was in the hospital
with a life threatening illness
I was glad to get out of there
So I went to my computer last night
and sent an article out
to the collectibles journal I write for
Then I entered an Israeli poetry contest
Back "on track" as they say
Poetry won't pay the bills
yet it is very important
to that "nation within a nation"
the readers and writers of verse
and for all of you out there who
are collecting something
I send you my fondest wishes as well...
