last steps
in different streets
take us to the same place
on the pages of a story
our life we read
in short
we are a story
Curse. Rail. Spit.
In short impress your peers
With your modernity.
Sneer. Scoff. Hit.
But naught will save
You in eternity.

Long is not the road to success but rather knowledge and patience are in short supply!

We’re born; we learn.
We grow; we thrive.
We mourn; we yearn
And so, survive.
We strive; we nest.
We laugh; we cry.
Alive, we’re stressed,
Then lo! We die.
Look with non-judgmental eyes.
Listen patiently with ears set to kindness.
Embrace change and welcome diversity.

Will sailors be scuttling ships.'
If the US navy; gets in a real fix?
In the great gulf of a war
with rockets in short store
Hulls in shallows, like half showing bricks'
Love and peace
Is in short supply
Some hold their anger
Until the day they die
People of the world
Should live as one
Instead of destroying the planet
Until one day, it is done

Five to six feet tall,
roughly the same size
as your average poet,
but incapable of flight.
His wings but one-tenth
of his total height;
in short, a groundling
in a bird’s disguise.
QUEST, HEART
Sum the gist
In short list
Heart owns mind
As soul binds
Joy moves fest
Love fits best
Line by line
Yours and mine

Fay was dying to go to the big dance
Praying a nice boy would give her a chance
But O, most unfortunate!
‘Dweeb’ called... Fay bit the bullet

Summer plans
I posted a piece that's too long for here (why is this space so limited?),
so I put it in short stories as "Summer Plans". Here's the URL:

They say that the pen
Is mightier than the sword,
so I write this in short
to tell you of Gods’ rewards.
They are oh so much greater
than the materials of
this earth,
so believe in His word
and take it for what it’s worth…
Rice pudding has been a tradition in our house forever
A homemade treat reminding me of good times together
A young'un in short pants
Filled with dancing ants
Looking to the future thought would arrive never
Found a new restaurant called The Lion and Firkin
Was quite impressed, when I finished I was smirkin'
The girlies were clad
In short skirts of green plaid
Delightful as a shamrock, their bottoms were flirtin'
Found a new restaurant called The Lion and Firkin
Was quite impressed, when I finished I was smirkin'
The girlies were clad
In short skirts of green plaid
Delightful as a shamrock, their bottoms were flirtin'
More and more a comfort
Restful-lamped eves
Of consoling. In short
Home. Rest begets.
Whose nerve-stilling quiets
Soon to seep aid.
Back from off a street blown
Which hour of life
All joy for has outflown
A heart. Afraid.
Bones hiss,
embers char,
flaming tongues
lap heat.
Concepts coil
around my
burning mind.

Dear Santa please bring me good news from all the world; that peace will be the future.
Bring everyone contentment, love and good health too.
In short, obliterate the horrors, in the world today; thank you.
