Why I Write
The words I wrote.

They made me hyped.

I jumped so high.

Full of delight.

But then I crashed.

I fell so hard.

I wrote again.

No longer mad....

Premium Member What Is a Hover Board
Hover boards
I thought they flew
My children want them now
Ones I meet daily often do
Catching fire? Levitate child? What truth?
You have surely heard the rumors
Hyped by advertisers
I thought they flew
Hover boards...

Matinee
I don’t like modern films
Over hyped, over killed
They so often disappoint
The audiences once thrilled

I find now as I get older
The most joy that I can muster
Is from watching an old favourite
Than a modern blockbuster...

The Hyped Piper
So the piper had this charisma thing with mice
He danced a little jig and they thought twice
The mice just had to follow where he trod
The whole thing seems to me a little odd
Although I'm sure his time for luck was ripe
Can't help but wonder where'd he get that pipe?...

Premium Member Edsel's Folly
Edsel Ford launched the Edsel auto much to his Pa's consternation!

He hyped it hoping his namesake would reach top sales across the nation!

Edsel touted it as the latest and greatest but it proved to be a flop!

Folks soured on this woeful lemon since it spent most of its time in the shop!...

Why Doesn'T Things Go On Our Way
Sometimes things don't go on our way,
Wondering why it has always been that way?
The agression and grief,
Is never replaced with relief.

Being tongue tied,
And brain hyped,
Lungs rotten,
And heart broken.

Wondering why things happen that way?
Well I don't think we can get any answers either way....

Haunted
What awakens me at night.
And puts a scream on my lips.
 But leaves nothing in sight.
Yet leaves me so wiped.
 But scares me in the night.
And leaves me so hyped.
 What makes me so mean.
When I feel differently in my heart.
 Why do I stike out as it seems.
And can not make a new start.
 I just want to scream.
Why did you leave me crying in my heart.
 Knowing this was no dream....

Premium Member Sightsee
The things I should have done,
the things I’ve yet to do;
Moving slow and steady
is still moving forward;
Hyped and more than ready;

The things I should have done,
directions can be changed;
Hard swerve and course correct;
Follow your pounding heart,
never say it’s too late;

The things I should have done?
 Learn flexibility;
A detour in the road
leads you somewhere unplanned;
Pause a moment, sightsee....

A Moments Candy
A Moments Candy

Hyped like a child sprinkled with a sugary mist
Eyes stuck shut frosted with bliss

Knees weak stand like jello
Taste of clear sprite or mellow yellow

Air blocked by a chocolate wall
Teeth chilled like first bite in a snowball

Scent of fresh berries under my nose
Body sticky like candy made clothes

Pixie stix fingers reach for skin
Sweat drips brown like wet cinnamon

A wonderland experience I'm glad I didn't miss
Sweet and enchanted that was some kiss...

Before the Eclipse
Many people took long trips
While others are ignoring
The much-awaited big eclipse;
With expectations soaring,

The ones with special glasses
Are hyped up for the event,
But clouds may interfere and cause
A dose of discontent.

Totality, I’ve heard, is something
Special to observe,
Though where I live, that platter
Isn’t what the skies will serve.

Still, I’ll head to the river,
Can’t resist the story’s hook,
My cardboard glasses on, although
I’ll be too scared to look.
...
