The station wagon hurtled 
through the grey of early morning; 
a sudden dash of red betrayed a robin. 

A rabbit dodged the churning wheels, 
a flash of grey, and it was gone.

Rain was falling on granite rocks
Cleft slabs frozen in winter
Thaw in spring with seasonal changes
A single drop of rain now seeps into tears
Then it flowed freely
Its puddles turned into seas

Evaporated into the sky
The storm swept it up
And carried it through rainbows and thunderstorms
Passing the lightning
And hurtled through the tornado
Tempest of Destruction

And it fell once more
Landed in the fields
Dew on oak leaves...

above an autumn's moonlit sky
'twas there in flight, a hurtled star
then visions land as from afar
what wants 'came focused on mind's eye
was it shining gold that called?
a better man it's left enthralled
fame and power? the skill to jest?
so many dreams, thy brain was mauled
but out from selfish musings sung
a thought so single, bright, and true!
on crisp night air I felt it hung
it melted over, then I knew
for next to me my lover strode
i wished for us a sweet abode...

Trees were bending, gates a-banging, leaves were airborne too

Howling like a banshee, autumn reigns anew.

Around the parks broken boughs lay like severed limbs,

While out on empty windswept streets, hurtled wheelie bins. 

And so it is, seasons change, in turn they take the floor

A flourish of autumnal hues, before winter knocks the door.
