dog don't talk
do walk
they do speak
but under neat
so much they seek
and love to roll like a log
its
A DOG NOT A HOG
The dog and the hog went to town
There were no critters around
It was a mistake
Got slapped by a rake
Ran back to the country so sound.
if you live
where there's a wine still
and a gim mill
where they chop
and bop
and turn and brun wood
and back yard
where there logs
you should know about
THE HOG

Ground Hog Day 2021
Long Range Forecast
Haiku: by Tom
February 2 2021
Today's forecast comes
from Gobblers knob near Pittsburgh.
Phil saw his shadow.
Need to step back and rethink things here
Living high off the hog, too high it appears
Must reassess
Do with much less
Get back to my roots and sanity reappears
Need to step back and rethink things here
Living high off the hog, too high it appears
Must reassess
Do with much less
Get back to my roots and sanity reappears
ANTS HOG GLEN
Fiery red burns
Autumn orange
Army ants learn
How to hog Glen
High winged pigs
Fly blue in tune
Suctioning mouths
Pulling helium
Balloons

Thanksgiving Day and the cats are out meowing the dogs.
Of course they are, dogs cannot meow, said the hogs.
But the turkey were silent, coming out of the oven now.
They were tasty and crunchy; it was a relief to the sow.
Hamford Hog sat on a log
Waiting for Buford Butt
They were headed to Macon
To buy a pound of bacon
Which to me seemed somewhat odd
When they could shuffle up to Boston
Which I’ve done quite often
To pick up a pound of scrod
in a barnyard pen sits a happy hog
bullfrogs in a blizzard bog
dense and daring grayish fog
a curious machine with a metal cog
a summertime yip from a happy dog
going on a jaunty jubilant jog
black ants sliding on a wet log
chef includes New Years eve eggnog
love to rhyme hog fog bog cog and dog
What’s that in the sky?
It is a plane, is it a bird?
No, it is Space Hog
Flying his magic Persian carpet
Wearing his bacon red cape.
Space Hog to the rescue again!
Delivering wavering Muslims and Jews
To the breakfast of their dreams.
In this way the world is made a better place
One serving at a time.

Last night I showed my humble gratitude
To a sweet sow with pulchritude
She served as a shield
Or I would've squealed
When the farmer wanted me barbequed
Now, all she eats is pizza; Totino's
Whines that she needs help with the bambinos
But diapers are crappy
Not a chore for pappy
I'd rather gamble at the casino
Piggy with a happy engaging heart
Moved mud with his giant humungous fart
Ladies thought it cute
Enjoyed the big brute
Hoindexter Hog had such a vulgar art.
Farmer Pete took Hoindexter to the mart.
Overheard one say “It’s a pig. They’re smart.”
Got a big kick
Out of that hick
Hoindexter smeared him with his feces art.
the motorcycle streaked past us so fast, I thought “night rider”
Plus there were flames and it seemed to be on fire
I wish it would slow down I thought.
The hog instantly stopped near my driveway.
I was astonished, for it had no rider.
A bike full of flames, streaking through the neighborhood.
I ran to get my camera, hoping it would return.
It never did.
He got made fun of in the boys locker room
When he took off his trunks and gave them a moon
You must have worn a suit on the beach today!
He was so angry, he decided to make them pay
It’s bad enough to be the largest hog on the team
Making fun of his tan line was incredibly mean.
He became the quarter back and showed them all up.
Loved receiving MVP and the Cincinnati loving cup.
It was a meal that my late mom cooked but it sure didn't please.
Every New Year Day, Mom cooked hog jowls and black-eyed peas.
I always ate it but it was something that I didn't enjoy at all.
I would've rather had pizza, Domino's was who I should've called.
I don't have to eat those meals anymore and it sets my mind at ease.
Thank God that I no longer have to eat hog jowls and black-eyed peas.
Groundhog promised he would never oversleep again.
On February second they sent out the annoying wren.
He could not rouse groundhog from his slumber.
So Mom and Dad went over, in a wagon-lumber.
They made as much noise as they dared outside.
Finally going into his bedroom and shaking his hide.
Groundhog was irritated and terribly grumpy too.
I think it was certainly brave of them, don’t you?
But, Blanche, you were much more
Than just a hog… much more
With harvest moon quivering,
Charging the cool autumn night
You are drenched
In delicious alien mystery
Sauntering around your muddy pen,
Confident, in control, full of barnyard sass…
Oh, Blanche, your beguiling black eyes
Beckoning
Drawing me into your muddy world
Your sensuality overpowering
I sleep in your filthy pen
Aghast and in love
A Man from Tibet
There was a young man from Tibet
Who had wanted to become a vet. But bitten by the hog, And chased by the dog, He took to his bed instead.
she waddled over and stuck in her toe
ooh! it’s cold she squealed with a feminine glow
the rest of us sows ignored her, she is a drama queen
she walked out to the end of the diving board then, so serene
she won’t ever jump one of the hogs said, she’s a faker
she passed gas all the way back, she is a real quaker
we rolled over and ignored her, which really got her goat
the next thing we knew, she was out in a boat
all around Detroit we heard a vrrrooom vrrrooom
It’s a skull on a hog! It spells instant doom!
This was said by a naysayer who is always full of gloom.
I stood by the road to wave at the vrrrooom vrrrooom
It was a skull on a hog with orange streaming hair behind him
He asked if I wanted a ride and I climbed on in.
The grim reaper and Count Dracula were both terrified of him.
I had the best ride of my life, said my cousin Grim.
Samantha was the prettiest hog in the field for sure.
The only one here in this meadow, but that did not stop her.
From admiring herself in the cool farm pond’s reflection.
Frankly, Samantha could not see any flaw or imperfection.
A summer butterfly with dots and squiggles came by.
It landed on Samantha’s pretty snout, who knows why?
You have superior taste, Samantha said to the beast.
I am the most gorgeous hog in this field, at least!
Hurtling toward me was a messy, slimy mass
Of masticated food from a diner with no class!
Glancing off my head (I ducked!), it landed on poor old
Mama, right smack dab in the face. It slid, then rolled
Onto her lap. The offender saw her mopping her face.
Unabashed, he refilled and, without a trace of grace,
Talked, with cavernous mouth wide open, disgusting us all.
Henceforth, Food Flinger, cease showing such egregious gall.

Let’s stay at Oinkington Inn the easily pleased relative said.
Her husband looked at brochure and said I’d rather be dead.
The pigs are lovely, she replied. There is nothing to dread.
He told her to go to her family reunion with her cousin Ned.
The sows and hogs were truly placated and fine.
We visited them near an old abandoned crystal mine.
You should come next time to the reunion, she said.
Best part is, a sow ran off with my mean cousin Ned.
