Finally the day
Relaxing in my lawn chair
Barbeque grill smoking;
Smells oh so good!
Volleyball over the net
Family fireworks—Wow!

Desert dune damage, feet wrapped in gauze,
To sue, the lawyer thought he had cause,

Escaped his detection,

Middle Matters

I’m at the net,
Fast hands, quick feet.
I read the game,
I take my stand.

You swing?
I’m there.
You tip?
I’ll block.

I jump high,
Land strong,
In the front,
I belong.

I control the court,
I set the tone.
In the front,
I stand alone.

Understand

Understand
Wish that I
Am your friend

I don't know
What went wrong
Find the way

Determine
Be your friend
Want to tell

I love you
To come home
Give a chance

People dance
Love and joy
Throughout live

Is my wish
Be your friend
In new world

Volleyball

There was a time when I stood tall

             Especially in college, playing NCAA Volleyball.

   Oh, the trips we went on to the various meets

             Winning and losing in those much vaunted heats.

   We weren't great then, now I can't jump at all.

Volleyball Time!

Playing volleyball - give me more!
Don't let the sucker hit the floor!

Just don't dive and hit the floor
Or else have pain forevermore!

Fifteen points it takes to win
Then it starts all over again

Want to have fun and be fit?
Then playing volleyball is it!

it gives him inspiration...

You Enjoy On My Pain

Am football,
You kick me I move;
To the direction
you choose;
Harder you kick
farther I reach
Yet under your feet;
Made of hide
Of unfortunate sheep,
Children stitch,
Then I come in play ground,
In branded name;
A modern day slave,
Made of slaves,
Have no voice
To raise loudly;
You enjoy on my pain;

Air that leaves me

A baseball bat has a ball.
A basketball has a bucket.
A volleyball has a net.
A book has a cover.
A card has an envelope.
A shirt has a hanger.
A flower has a vase.
A bottle has a lid.
A finger has a nail.
So what do I have?
I don’t have a person nor an object.
I have nothing but air.
Air that leaves me when I breathe out.
So what does that mean?

A Summertime Poem

IN THE SUMMER IT WOULD BE NICE
TO BE IN A COOL MILD JACUZZI.
WITH A NICE SLUSHY MOSCOTO.
OR BE IN THE SHADE AT THE
PARK,HAVING A NICE
PICNIC,DRINKING SODA PLAYING
VOLLEYBALL.
OR AT THE BEACH WITH CHAIR`S
AND UMBRELLAS,AND A ICE CHEST
WITH,DRANK,DRANK,DRANK,AND
DRINK,DRINK,WAITING FOR THE
SUN TO SET.
THIS IS MY IDEA OF A SUMMER DAY.
A SUMMERTIME POEM.

Summer 2012 Olympics: Womens Beach Volleyball

I wish I could be as gorgeous as you are now. Strong and strong-willed. Muscled and lean. Compact, hard, soft, curved. Covered in sand. You are all long legs, tendons straining to push muscles further. You are all long hair tied back, braided. Concentration written on your face. 4 girls. 1 net. 1 ball. 21 points. And you are a glowing beast.

Dedicated to Misty May-Treanor and Kerry Walsh.

Biblically 6

so sayest this sixth
is not the life of the
party nor Christ or
Brian but mine  me

i've never spiked
a drink or volleyball
and haven't been
circumnavigated

below the equater
belt if you know
what i mean but
not to try to please

a crowd but
just you and
me i'd love to
turn all water

into wine
a 2015
bordeaux
so

i could drink
from my toilet
and pee on
the lawn
