Small Minds Slander Grandeur
Giants and grandeur, the paltry cannot bear
In their defamation, they will write and repair
Atop the high horse, they brag and blare
But end up lackeys stripped of flair!...

High Times
bound for glory
and set in time
start another story
about blind leading blind
from a high horse you climb
too many reasons left behind
so sing another song
about blind leading blind...

Trump Must Be Male Trollope
Trump Must Be Male Trollope

Did discover that Trump is a Trollope;
On his high horse over us will gallop;
Help does refuse;
He made miscues;
On weird flat head we should wallop.

Premium Member Blood On the Plateau
Gunshots pierces the silence of
 the night
The shrill cries the shouts and
 the flight
The herdsmen, spillers of blood are on
 the Plateau
The Sheriff is seated on the high horse in

The Plateau people in such a hopeless

Son In My Eyes
The Son in my eyes
Is brightness
From my high horse
With reigns tightened
Thrown into darkness
His likeness
Formed scales on my eyes
So frightened
Then touched, I received
My sight and
The Son in my eyes
Is still brightness
He's the One true Lord
Now enlightened
I want to be like Him
And His likeness...

Stewing In the Juice of My Attitude
For much of my life, friends I made with ease until I grew an attitude, riding on a high horse, paternalising associates and acquaintances, pushing friends around, putting on airs they found disturbing, disgusting, despicable and demeaning...

My bad attitude so
incensed friends they chose to scram
demanding I reform....

In My Skin
This body of mine
Is just a vessel, just a shell
That has no more to tell
About the real me
Than a stone can determine
The depth of a well

This crude casing
That I have been given
To walk around in
Doesn't fit my soul
It sneers and frowns
And brings me down
Off my high horse

It offers me no solace
No place to hide
This body doesn't fit...

Premium Member Miss Conduct
Miss Conduct rocks on her high horse And vitriol soon starts to course Right through all her veins She always complains There’s never a hint of remorse She’s always so nasty and rude Her language is often quite crude She sure likes to holler But thinks she’s top dollar Her actions can’t be misconstrued 10/14/21

Humble Pie
Ha, ha, ha. Hee, hee, hee.
Why you not laugh like it real funny?
You not see your brother, hey?
See his 'R'-ss, and fall down, hey?
Don't you know if you fall down,
He laugh too, like you a clown?
So come now, don't get up high horse.
You no better than us, of course.
And we all know just matter of time,
Before you too, see your own behind....

Premium Member Rise and Fall
He got knocked off his high horse
Now in the mud with pigs
He use to fly with eagles
Someone clipped his wings

Pride before a fall
Pedestal knocked down
Robes of a king
No subjects around

The mighty replaced
The weak will rise up
Nothing lasts forever
Reality is tough

Choose to be humble
Live a life with care
What others see as less
In the end is truly more...

Attitude
Always in euphoria, swaggering in conceit,
I see myself absorbed in work and ideals.

Embedded in cultured mind frame,
Starve myself for the epicurean feast,
I stand prejudiced with excessive self esteem,

Saying goodbye to intolerant stance,
I get off my high horse,
Tune myself to unpretentious attitude !!

The Rose Garden
Melanie chopped down the trees
(Not by herself, of course)
That Jackie planted, just so she
Could get on her high horse.

The critics all swooped in to say
It’s “empty,” “cold,” and “white,”
Replacing all the flowers
That were colorful and bright.

My favorite comment goes like this:
(Or something thereabout)
“Who switches up their garden when
They’ll soon be moving out?”...

Premium Member Get Off Your High Horse
One day …
I offered you a compromise,
But you went riding by,
Upon your high, high horse,
With your nose up in the sky.

One day …
I offered you a get-out clause,
But you went riding by,
Upon your high, high horse,
With your nose up in the sky.

One day …
You will have to stop and listen
And that is when of course,
Reality will force you to
Get off your high, high horse....

Horse Named Pride
I rode high up in the saddle,
on a prancing horse known as Pride.
Outside beaming with confidence,
but empty and shaken inside.

An old wise man once told me,
it was a long time ago.
You have to walk a dusty trail,
before you're white as snow.

Waded out in the muddy waters,
I got down deep to save my soul.
Left my high horse in the pasture,
leaving Pride has made me whole.

Premium Member Fool
Fools distort reality
Bend it to their will
To fit misguided ideas
And protect failed ideals

A matter of circumstance
Funny how it varies
Continent to continent
People to people

Laugh in solitude
To chase a platitude
Hate my attitude
Deny me latitude

Flee the shade
A fool rides his high horse
Risk your sanity
But never his faith

This is your world
This is my world
This is our world
Let's be fools together...

Sturdy Cowboys
Sturdy cowboys
evolved as heroes,
Well built, stout featured,
Wooden attire
Arched hats, spiky shoes,
Tough looks as is life !

Farmhouse mornings,
Saddle the stallion,
Solid hoofs sound,
Get into the saddle
For a day's ride,
Horse around or about !

Leading the herd
Get on high horse,
Appear out of woods
Clouds of dust follow,
Awaken devils
Legendary heroes !

The Rehabilitation of Killers ( Two Senryu Trilogies)
Out of water
Moses killed a task master
And hid the body.

In the wilderness
Forty years and reconciled
Called by Burning Bush

Out of the desert
Moses, the deliverer,
Set God's people free.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A true Pharisee
Of Pharisees, Paul stood by
Consenting killings.
Killing more Christians
Blinded, thrown off his high horse
Sent to a Christian
The scales fell away.
Paul became a man of God...
Trusted apostle....
Premium Member I Love You, Daddy, But: -Charles Wood-
How much time do you think I have?
And, yeah, I know, Dad
You're real pissed at me.
And my boyfriend, Harry
You want us to marry
but that's not the way that we see.
We want this baby
we both think that maybe
marriage isn't where we want to be.
There you stand yellin' at
Mom who is tellin' you
this ain't the way things should be.
Just back off your high horse
and then let life's will of course
teach you some needed humility.
Love,
Your Daughter
(remember me?)...
Out There
If you think that we're alone,
your head is screwed on wrong.
In the whole wide universe,
there is more than one song.
A hundred zillion planets
are waiting to be found.
A billion alien species
wait if we look around.
They might look much different,
but life is life is life.
They live, breathe and propagate;
they also have their strife.
So, Mankind, you must take heed
and get off your high horse.
You're not the top of the heap;
there are those with greater force....
A Visit To the Hygienist
The hygienist cleaned my teeth
And gave a little lecture.
"Your flossing isn't good enough;"
It wasn't just conjecture.
I'm sure that it was obvious
My efforts were exquisite
In just the week or two before
My 6-month dental visit.
I brush each morning and each night
But more than that's annoying.
Unless a poppy seed is stuck,
No floss I'll be employing.
So twice a year I suck it up
And listen to her chiding.
At least a saddle for her very
High horse I'm providing....
