Poet's Pen
The world unknowing, worsened when
In silence sits the poet's pen
What worth have words unwritten then
While fury fills the minds of men

Poetry Confinement
I am on poetry confinement
I can’t go here or there
I am chained to poetry
I only have words to eat

Set me free poetry

I only have time to rhyme left
I am on poetry row
I am getting the poetry chair
I leave my muse to you...

I Am Part of Creation
Tree's have words writen in their leaves
Clouds form pictures for me to see
The Ocean speaks a language dark and cleer
The Wind has a voice
Yet I have no fear
I Am a part of Creation!
and I am Aware!

Snow Cascades
Snow cascades from the tall pines,
Large powder puffs
Puff down in soft lunges,

Descending to earth,
Subdued incidence,
A sort of soul for January.

They do not have words for it.
If they are wordless,
So, finally, are we.

It is as if they would say
What we say,
I mean what I say by being....

I'm a poet
Who are you?
Are you a poet, too?
If you are, do you tell?
Or do you keep it a secret?
Do you share your poems?
or do you hide them away?
Do you have words flowing
in your head and pestering you
until you get them recorded?
If you do, chances are you are
a poet, even if you don't know it!...

My Feelings Are Poetry To Me
Its not a poem~
Its just a thought~
I have words I want to say~!

Take me for what I am,
A writer of words
A speaker of what needs to be said~

Not for you to judge
what I have had to say,
but for the FEELINGS I have said.

It may not be "Haiku" it may not be "ABC"
But what I have to say is poetry to me......

Poetry
My one ray of light
In my darkend world
I can write anything down
My emotions inspire me
An outlet for my emotions

Anger is my favorite muse
Anger drives my hand
It controls my words
Poetry
My world

My life
Natural talent for it
Never used to celebrate it
Now I embrace it
I love it

My emotions now have words....

Now and Forever
As long as
There is air to breathe
Flowers and the trees
As long as
Day turns into night
And everlasting light
As long as
My heart continues to beat
I continue to face defeat
As long as
I have words to speak
And hope
Keeps me from being weak
No matter how long
No matter how far
I will always love you
Now & Forever

The End

Essence
I hold no claim
No land, no fame
I have words, have song
I have sorrow, I have pain
But no do not pity me for they have strengthened my soul
The essence of love is like the release of a painter's brush stroke
If held too deep, a smudge may approach
A deepened darkened clot in thy heart
Greater than any wound
More silent than a stab in the dark...

Premium Member Conviction
I try to write through bleary eyes,
as tears and thoughts fall.....
On paper.
Thoughts wild and deep
depart my brain and pen
and fall
helter skelter,
onto the paper.
I long to have words, conviction born,
that those who read will think my
words true and of import.
I long to impress and endear
those who read
of the urgent need ......
of action....

I only have words

Can’t you get me anything from
From my hand, just listen to the words
Comes from my heart, take all to yours
I have just words, you took me to the floor

Loved you, love has not come from you
A heart, sad, happy in yours, kind gone
Mistake, open a heart in your closed one
Hmm, loved love is ice, killed my life

Loved
You
Heart
True
Words

Premium Member Sheila Loves Dancing in the Rain
She grabbed her cat and ran out to dance
The cat was horrified, annoyed, askance!
Why does she do this to me every time?
She loves the rain, to me it is cold and grime.

The cat did not have words, so could not speak
Sheila flung him under her umbrella, he felt bleak.
The rain was pelting and mean that ugly spring day
But Sheila loves the rain, so continued to play....

The Missing Part In My Eulogy
That the truth to what I am writing is bare
Is a fact you will determine when you find the missing piece.
This eulogy is long overdue.
Then again, even you reading this yet to be told story,
Even you have words for my corpse then.
Nonetheless I would not want controversies during my cremation
So I will tell it in writing…………………...
Only read my eulogy when the time comes....

Premium Member Tribute To Trayanna
Trayanna’s green eyes were enormous and unusual
Bigger than frog eyes, with a touch of gold in the center
Are they abnormal? Someone asked. No they are endearing.
The shade and hue of a Luna moth. I had never seen such eyes.
We usually have words for the unusual but there are no words today.
We are speechless, all of the rest of us have brown eyes.
Trayanna is an unusual addition to our class, something totally new....

Loving You
Since i first met youi have been surprised everday. No one has respected me like
you do, you call me everyday making sure im alright. If i were to leave this earth you
would not even have words in your voice anymore. I feel when i talk to you i get
butterflies, and im speechless. I like when you just ramble on how im so special an
you can tell me everything you like about me. I have to bring you back to earth for a
few seconds to talk to you...Your amazing...

Brevity
I wonder why
Some steal the sky
To take away from you and I

Don't they have words of their own
If not maybe they are all alone

If so then we should pity
As word thieves are not very pretty

So its better to care and share
Our words that take them there

And if someone copies down my spin
Good luck to her or to him

I do hope though that they are inspired
To write a poem I will admire

Poetry to share with me
So I can steal their brevity

Writers Block
From pen to paper my words will not flow,
oh how frustrating, I want to shout. How
I wish I could think of some lyric, or line
to put on paper that would look so fine.

What Iv`e got is common enough, It`s
called writers block you see It happens
to the best of us you know.

It can last a day, a month, or a year
brings misery instead of cheer. Knowing
I have words to share, doesnt help,
or improve things at all. I might
as well throw my pen away and
go up the wall....

How do i pretend?
How do I pretend to be
happy when I am sad,
Pretend that my day is
going well when it is
bad.

How do i pretend that I
do not know the difference
between the right and wrong,
Pretend that I am strong even
when i am not.

How do I pretend to smile when
I drown,
Pretend that I do not have words
to say out loud.

How do I pretend that I do not
have a heart of gold?
Something inside of me that never
gets old.
Something inside of me I want
someone to hold....

Word
Nature taught the spoken word, Humans converted it to script. Many forms now transcribed. Some cultures have words of their own; lagom, Swedish. Ya’arburnee, Arabic. Cafune, Brazillian, to write but a few. What word describes you? All words formed in one's mind, Silent until vocalised, unless, Spoken with the eyes, I love you!

Bound
Spoken like a handshake
firmer than a vow
when I said I love you
it was for longer than right now

But I see that my voice had failed me
no longer did I have words
for you went away yesterday
and i have nothing to look towards

Alone, lonesome, forever a single man
though other women lay beside me
none of them can understand

I lost you to an Autumn wind
you left me for an empty thought
I'll never truly love again
because I'm bound by the love my heart never forgot....

Premium Member I Never Learned To Read
I use my Thesaurus to prop a door open.
As a desk when I write poetry outside.
To lift a two-year-old high enough to reach the table.
You should open it, my eight-year-old grandson suggests.
Why?
It might have words in it and pictures and stuff.
I show him there are no pictures.
“I never learned to read,” I tell him.
Waiting for his logical mind to click in.
He knows that I write.
He gives me a hug.
“I will teach you, Grandma.”
I cannot wait to show him how fast I can learn....
