Harvest Time
October is the time
to harvest that which
summer days did
sow.

Enjoy one last flash of
brilliance before we
succumb to winter’s
snow…...

Annually the garden
provides the results
of one’s labour--together
fresh vegies and fruit
a gift of heaven,
to you Lord
thanks

Autumns here stillness breeds
days clear with golden leaves
Summer care left behind
Our hearts share harvest time
Empty swings from great oaks
Simple things left from folks

Crops In the Field
Corn in the field
growing so fine,
green beans doing
their fair share.

Sun glowing so
bright helping the
crops along ok,
rain drops now,

falling to complete
the cycle, just
will have to wait
now until harvest time.

Autumn
Trees green to yellow
Then comes orange and red

Harvest Time
Harvest time

 Golden acres of wheat
soon the harvester will cut you down
make you into bread and fodder
I remember when you were tall as me
and the north- west wind
tried to flatten you but you
bent with the wind
At sunrise rose like a peace- army
Hell bent on becoming flour...

Harvest Time
Sweet apple, turned sour. Her taste...
too bitter to be devoured.
Harsh summers, unpleasant winters...
her soul; un-nourished by spring time.
She awaits the rainfall,
her day in the sunshine.
And by harvest, though she's bruised to the core;
I know under her skin is a nectar beautiful and pure....

Premium Member Harvest of Love
It is harvest time;
I am reaping sheaves of love,
and loving in abundance.

The field has been fallow,
shallow, superficial unyielding soil;
I have recoiled and retreated

but now I am needed. I am free.
I am loved; released to be me.
I am adored and adoring in abundance.

It is good year....

Harvest Time Haiku: by Tom 12/26/2020 Fields are truly white, labor needed for harvest. there's so little time. John 4:35 KJV “Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.”

Mum’s
Baking
Pumpkin pie.
Light crisp pastry
Silky smooth topping
Adorned with pastry leaves
Topped with swirls of white whipped cream.
I start drooling; it’s so tempting
Our spoons are poised ready to tuck in
Oh how I adore autumn harvest time!

Ancient Fruit
And there you are my tasty fruit
Emerald life stretches from the root
Lush grape vines growing upward to reach the sun
Sun blessed one by one
Dripping wet morning dew
Sugared sweet tasty too
Late August harvest time shall be near
A fresh bowl on my lap glazed where I peer
Summer kisses gardens flourish
In my mouth and body it did nourish...

Like a Thrill
Romans, 5:1 - "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God ..."

I hold up at the edge of the heart.
All the words and actions grow dim.
And through the gardens
the dog's shadow runs over.
And He comes back
resembling a song
sung once at harvest time.
And like a a thrill presses you down
at the twinkle
when you leave....

When September Comes
When September comes
mornings are cool and crisp,
and smoke escapes the chimneys
in peculiar little wisps.

Pumpkins turn a lovely hue,
and new mown hay is in stacks.
Harvest time is here again,
and wind whistles through the cracks.

Days grow shorter, and nights longer,
as Earth moves farther away.
The seasons change so subtly,
and Winter waltzes in to stay....

Premium Member A Pumpkin Seed
I planted a pumpkin seed, which was dropped
by a kind bird in my well-furrowed back yard,
hoping it would grow larger than those in the farm...

It's already harvest time and my white
pumpkin is ready for my chocolate pie,
rich and sweet like a real dessert should be...
