Love Is a Hallway

Love is a hallway built between two hearts, where the doors to each are always unlocked and with no secret rooms in the blueprint.

This Hallway

It's cold, dark
And gloomy.
This hallway is
The hall SHE
Was found. . .
.D.E.A.D.
Shot in the
Head and
Slit by the
Wrists.

Premium Member Lucky To Live Here

I reside in a commune of exconvicts,
Lucky I was never convicted.
I reside in a hallway of rooms of addicts,
Lucky to live here unrestricted.

Door

• Down the hallway, take 2 lefts • Take a right and find a right • Hear it crying? Knock on it twice • The crying will be no more

after the sirens

not anyone
had spoken for hours
but the hard hallway remembered
the sound's echo of ambulance light
and how a woman still clutched her locket

Premium Member Hospital Chirps

Written on July 23, 2012

As the doctors and nurses begin their day,
The cricket chirps resonate
Throughout the hallway;
as if they own all of the luck in the place.

Almost a Hallway

we both are in
the same time
zone but it's
like being in
a large room
where you
are by the
furthest
window
and i'm
all the
way on
the other
side near
the door

Racing In the Hallway

My life's a sweet path down memory lane
Kissing and telling my friends

Running down the hills,
making way.

Finally A Hall Path
One day, I shall rise in the hall of fame.

Baby Words

Eight o'clock in the morning and I
hear two little feet coming down
the hallway to my bedside.
My ears fill with baby
talk, but I know what
he's trying to
say to me.
Wake up
now!!

The Narrow Hallway

I walk alone
Far from life and home
Searching to find my way
Through a world polluted by grey
Not knowing where I began
Withdrawing to find who I am
Lost somewhere deep down
My place is yet unfound

In April, on a still night droning on. . . .
an infant’s first shrill cry fills a hospital hallway;
six waiting siblings and a dad whoop happily!

Premium Member Bouncing Furball

Thundering paws pound the floors;
back flips off the walls, resounding.

Claws clicking floors as feline ricochets,
down the hallway and back.

A cat with cabin fever,
after a long winter snooze.

Toilers of the Dark

Topsy turvy lives,
we lead.
We rare ones,
a special breed,
not all can be.
Sunrise is sleep,
mid-day slumber.
The moon, our luminary.
We awaken
with lengthening shadows.
Hallway haunters are we.

Sensor, [for Ed Lau] 1995

sensor
as he walked
through
the semi-dark
hallway
the light-sensitive
switches told the lights
to stay on
as he passed his body forming
a moving
interruption
to the
constant
flow of ... shadow

Teachers Thoughts

Teachers Thoughts

Outrageous
Screams that is so loud
Manifesting in hallways
Time to calm boys, girls down quietly
Gather them in the hallway
One, two, three so loud
Be quiet!

Naphthalene Abuela

From the cedar closet she reached
for a bundle. Holding her breath,
she pushed her head through, pulling down to her torso.
Scattering moths as she walked through the hallway
Breathing only on the front end of her stride.

Premium Member Into the Sunshine

through the dim hallway
to bright blaze of better days
optimistic smile

interesting hues
and all are feeling warmth's touch
in sweet summer's glaze

sultry, rich August
when the roses are teeming
in the orange light

Hallway

Sat on the edge of my legacy
The memories we swore would last forever
Vanished in the blink of an eye
An empty hall and an empty room are all that remain
Take me back and launch me forward
Things were warmer when it was colder

Premium Member A Voice In the Hall

I heard a voice in the hallway.
Said “Good morning!”
With a lilt.
Startled me.
It is 1:11 a.m.
Husband is asleep.
Dog does not speak English.
It was a little girl’s voice.
I am in the hallway staring.
Wide awake now...

Untitled #55 / the Upstairs Hallway

I stand in the upstairs hallway, hearing
sparks of conversation between my two parents,
my eyes locked upon a distant orange light
that grows in strength as the sun fades.
Our house is a cavern, four souls separate
yet I feel too close.

Dementia

Insanitys child
held fast in the grip
of a twisted realitys
mobius strip

lost in the hallway
always the hallway....

Help me!!
Anybody!!
Lemme outa here!!
Lemme outa here!!
Why am I always
Alone in the hallway
Year after year?
