It's a Boy

In April, on a still night droning on. . . . an infant’s first shrill cry fills a hospital hallway; six waiting siblings and a dad whoop happily! For nikko palmario's contest: Life without U & ME

WOW, talk about memories. Mom had 10, but after 6, I don't remember a whole lot of whoop from my lips. Maybe because I was the oldest and tired of changing diapers. It really hit home. Great write.

You've taken me back 47 years, Andrea as they wheeled me into the delivery room at S.F. General after I had given birth to my son in the ambulance ... kept me 4 days in those days ... wonderful write here!! I'm not familar with the form or the contest but I really love this ... smile ...

I wonder was there five girls wanting a bother as bad as the daddy wanted a son or was it mixed gender family...Question....Keep the inspired pen flowing..Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my "The Slow Learner"...It was written after reading Edna St. Vincent Millay who possibily read that one written by Shakespear...I got the idea from her and went with it..Thanks for taking the time to read and comment...Sara

Hi Andrea, I can't see any sign of a u, m or e, so is this for Nikko's contest? It's a lovely image, the tension of the wait broken by the first cries of the new baby. He he, they won't be so happy to hear it from now on ;) If you choose to enter this one, then best of luck ~ Sharon :)
