He thought the unthinkable
He saw the unseeable
He spoke the unspeakable
His face was illusion
And his name was Lies.
If you feel bad for others
If it makes you depressed
Think of how much you have
But beware
a deeper tug in your chest.g
Humility and discernment lead
Knowledge and wisdom follow
Use them as an example to succeed
And you will be them tomorrow
Longing to thrust my hand
Through this wall of glass that divides us,
I pull away; afraid the shards
Will pierce my armor.
Ask me to do for you
Ask me yes, yes…yes.
But if you screwed a friend or two
I’d say bite me! Fits you best!
Chew on that?
When feeding a family of four
From a 16-inch terrarium
The secret is to eat less, not more
Or build a seafood aquarium
History is an open book
If we would just turn the pages.
Perhaps it is fear that prevents a look
At life throughout the ages?
"Every living thing
upon this earth
has a right to exist"
claims the species
who made it through
survival of the fittest.
A tender kiss upon the brow
has precious little meaning now.
When fornication simply states
a need for pleasure without delay.
You said I wasn't worth a plug nickel
But you offered a penny for my thoughts,
So I gave you my two cents
And turned on a dime
Men don’t cry
not in pain
not in rain
Men are strong
they hold on
they have brawn
Just one time
a man tear
a love fear
Is everything coming together?
Are things still flying apart?
Are we any less lost when we're born
Than when we finally lose heart?
The notion of life after death is ludricous...
they are dead,
and can't communicate;
whoever believes they can is superstitious.
Learning to smile
whilst turning the knife
in one’s subordinates anatomy.
A life, so rife for strife.

I took one look
It died before it spoke
No reason to read the book
The play she played was a joke.

Life is a journey,
with a destination
deeply embedded;
the smell of the roses,
all the sweeter,
if you know where you're headed.
Since corporate gain
is all that matters,
thick oil is fouling
ocean waters.
For Charles Henderson's Grook contest.
Better let sleeping dogs lie
Just in case
They were to open one eye
Stare at my face
Not like what they see
And take a bite of me
Emotions are concentrated in three places
They muddle up the brain
They are evident on all faces
And its heart that feels the pain
When your soup grows cold serve lemonade
A way to buy time
Taking the reality and making it askew
But when caught for the crime
You stand by the mirror saying “how could you”
The mantra of the government
(though I'm sure it's nothing new) is:
Take heed to
what I'm saying
instead of
what I actually do.
Climate Change Grook Poem
climate changing
hot weather everywhere
followed by short brutal winter
Is this the end-of-the-world?
I hear the refrigerator door
closing at midnight
The sound of another
failed diet
For the Grook contest
Hair brain glob pores;
Scape congested cog webs spores;
Covered chrome top
Afro?
