Well said Timothy, I only celebrate my wedding anniversary, and the death of my Lord. I try to remember all of my obligations to family and friends everyday, a very wise write in so few words. We are supposed to give from a cheerful heart not under obligation right? A fave and A7

Thanks Laura! Not against holidays, per say, just don't like the obligatory "just going through the motions" feeling that I often get on certain holidays.

More clarity would help here, my friend. What does "of it" refer to? Humanity or the holiday season? Maybe neither? Few of my humorous poems relate to me, rather an editorial "everyone." A matter of perspective, I suppose ... this is a rather extreme viewpoint, but meant to make people think about the why of celebration. Reminders are nice, but sad when those days, few and far between, are celebrated merely out of obligation. Thanks for reading and leaving your thoughts, my friend!
