. . . sunlit drizzle down
gravelly road back to town
up there, rainbow crown . . .
Walking on gravel
encompassed by bright colors
awakening life

Rose petals drifting
down, covering grey gravel
softly with colors
Collection: Haiku
Written: November 2019
gently tides rush upon a barren shore,
lifting gravel from beneath a bare sky,
lit only by the light of the moon pulling waves fast,
Form:
Gravel
I saw her
I wanted her
I seduced her
Afterwards,
the lust in my heart
turned to gravel
I choked on it

3-d stick figure
lays upon grave gray gravel —
imaginary
line drawn around circumnavigates
the resting place of dead wood

Fading pink Petals,
Resolute to die,drooping
Towards gravel grave.
Sprinklers cast,their last goodbye,
Daybreak:whites now your color.
cracked concrete
gravel and tar
grimy and gritty
asphalt yard
put in by my husband
a non-mower
who would like the entire yard to be asphalt
The cat can stretch out anywhere
In grass or gravel
In catnip patches
However he has a favorite spot
In front of the front door
Holding us hostage
leaves rain above a deep kiss
cosmic ambience kinesis
striking autumn passion bath
on dust gravel, shadow path
tapping sounds; unwilling pause

In the eyes of evil I can
only see you,
Clouds in a sky full of
truth,
Instincts remain and
need to be freed,
A river of gravel and
greed that need to be
seen.
Form:
Berries on a vine
in bright sunshine.
Gravel on a road.
A fat green toad
glistens in the light,
waits for cool of night,
croaks one flat note
only frogs could quote.
ulcer
developed
from too much stress
on an old country road:
pothole
—————
bad tooth
cavity
where the filling
simply will not stay put:
pothole
Part of me hugs the air for travel
Let's with gravel claim a cloud-
Aim'd I to hook our love to the sky
Neutral she dissolves truth of amore reign
Ever now our waves decline a meet
My plans for a road that's less traveled
are looking a little unraveled;
inflation is roaring
and fuel costs are soaring...
Yikes, six hundred bucks for the gravel!
Gravel in the driveway and my feet are bare.
There is a pandemic of pollen wafting in the air.
I am chilling and there is Covid-19 in my hair.
Come and visit me sometime – today if you dare!
First sprinkles of snow
Snowplows loaded with gravel
Schools are closed notices,
My momma takes off from work
Weather forecaster is wrong!

Thought That I Had About Travel
There is this thought I had about travel;
Could be on mountainside or on gravel;
Sights seen;
Some serene,
While mind with thoughts would unravel.
Jim Horn
he thankfully grazed on gravel and grass
then suddenly heard the deafening blast
now rests with fruits and nuts–
gravy boat floats his guts–
and sausage dressing's stuffed up his crevasse
I left my hands behind miles ago.
My eyes drift 30 feet behind my body.
My heart waddles over hot gravel.
A Highway Dust Angel.
My brain took an Uber. My soul
Bought by a Buddhist back in Biloxi.
The best laid plans of men unravel
while on a lesser road of travel,
(If plans were made at all)
when by demand of gut and gavel,
dues must be paid to dirt and gravel
for time spent in their thrall.
Something broke me into god damn flim flam
Seen enough to know the game is up, shut up
Drown down to the gravel level bottom shakes
Silence damaged COVID lungs like old movie remakes

Their course ~ time has worn
Callous from life's travels
Toughened since we were born
Should their history unravel
The stories of our past
They might cause us to gravel
Over possibilities passed
