a sharp two-edge blade
cuts too quick for pound of flesh-
sly parry of wit
leaves assailant floundering
for razor sharp comeback slice

No one could know all of who I am or even make good sense of what I have become. I suppose love is finding someone willing to try...

SOUL IS A MIRROR

                                  Soul is a mirror
                   Good sense and deeds if reflects
                                God is inside him

A Gentle Reproof

A Gentle Reproof

For want of good sense and probity
It seemed logical for me to offend him
But upon closer examination, the need never
Arose, for his sin was no greater than mine

In highschool the class clown's name was Seth

Made some laugh and bored others to death

It wasn't a rumor

His good sense of humor

Couldn't hide a slight case of bad breath

PACT

Prize that stern pact where good sense steers,
Ask for fine tact to live fond cheer;
Choice strokes the act where zest firms best,
Touch knows how fact can firm poise here.

Humor plays a special role
In this world of woe.
Laughter's serum for the soul,
As all fun lovers know.
Robust guffaws brighten days.
Insides shake, and hot tears flow.
Think of all the many ways
You could cheer those feeling low.

Feel the wise talk,
Indulge good sense;
Now how you walk,
Etch simple tense.
Ply your best verse;
Heed curl and swirl;
Inch and observe,
Love this strange world;
Open your heart,
See how you feel;
Offer fine art,
Play helps you heal;
Heart knows sure mind;
You come to find.

Standing there
Arms outstretched
The haggard pasty washed up
Kewpie doll
Of a soon to be ex
Awaited his oxytocin fix

As the dutiful wench
Swallowed the stench
Of his distillery fermented fat
She thought

This puts the retch in wretched

And that was that
A good sense of humour
Is only embraced so far

Touch describes
Beyond good sense;
Sure feelings speak

Mindfulness greets
Haiku in-transit

To go somewhere
Be now here;
Or nowhere near!

Be as no-thing
Be mindful --
All is empty

Premium Member Blue Cheese 'n Pickles

Something old, something blue,
Aged not old, a odd pairing,
which unfits the mold.
Taste acquiring,
pungent smell,
putrid looks,
uninspiring.
It is the dare that begs one to love it.
One good sense of five ain't too bad,
When you hold your nose,
close your eyes
and taste it,
breathlessly,
senselessly,
there's the rub.

The Edge

Perilously dangling,
One toe over the edge
Dizzily drawn to hover at the brink
Eyes closed and arms stretched out
Into thin air
I know that I am going to fall, yet I resist
Trappings of stability wrap tendrils around my waist
But they are frail and will not hold…
Leaning forward, against good sense, but unable to reason
I fall.

Beauty knows best
Joy's lovely fest

Look to good sense
To flavour tense

Live your best mind
Act in sure kind

Be a soul grand
Love works bold span

Live wise galore
With bliss that shores

Walk with sure ease
That lovely peace

Waltz in good time
Warm poignant chimes

Silence of the Night

A-nother night is serene,
N-othing is heard but silence;
G-oing to bed may be later,
E-ach tick is in good sense.
L-et the voice of the night echo in the deepest mind;
A-llow it to make better even the moment most unkind.

D-ay twenty-eighth October
I-s starting to burn the light;
Z-enith has heard the sound
O-f silence of the
N-ight.

A good sense of humour blunts the sharp blade of reality poetry contest

Witty words keep me sane
A giggle eases, life’s pain
When times are trying
Laugh through the rain
Reroute the grooves
Soften the grain

With faces stiff
A snooty drift
Good humor sees
Life is a gift

Minus a grin
Hard work won’t win
May spot the crowd
But won’t fit in

So when you choose
Smile over frown
You’ll lift the blues
A joyful sound

The Weather Girl

only girl stranger
to her dad and her step mom
history strikes again

drawn to ones treating
us like we might have good sense
no matter the risk

rebellion is stealth
comes in oh so many forms
stuck under that thumb

that iron thumb stifles
'til anything looks better
do the best we can

hard to understand
prolly just a big package
she'll get bored of this

FRAGMENTS 10

As if each verse makes good sense
This tacit bluff and sly masquerade
Embalms even lifeless still life
Beyond canvas or poignant picture
As a living mantra chant echoes
Or else implodes in eternity
Beyond the shifting echoes
That rise and fall and rise again
In these enchanted sand dunes

Love Is a Miracle

Somewhere
A child sits hungry and dying

Everywhere
People are wasting food

Sometimes
People are generous

Most times
They are not

Here-say
is just that

They say
That time heals

Sanity
Doesn’t always reign

Vanity
Rules the world

Innocence
isn’t stupidity

Guilt
Lords over good sense

Hate
Is a dirty word

Love
is a miracle

This Is Funny

Drawing up a map
It needs a good navigater
Drawing up a budget
It needs figures   systematically
Rolling my eyes in disbelief

The love you have been given
Should be received
Yet it would be nurtured
And will be utilised
Honouring the respect given

Drawing up a marriage proposal
It needs creativity
Drawing up a guest list
It needs a good sense of humour
I rest my case

Beauty spreads light
To curious eyes;
Finesse grooms sight
With profound sighs.

Curves and lines flow
In sensuous form;
Passion now shows
A crafty norm.

Joy spreads fond cheer
With happy feel;
Indulge thoughts here
As beauty heals.

See true light shine
To spark bold tense;
Greet touch divine:
Allow good sense.
