gold,
gleaming,
gilds the light,
quickens pulses,
making eyes go wide,
waking up greed,
steels resolve,
sets goals:
gold!

Golfing golden-age gentleman gladly gives go ahead-
gilds golf game, gets glory,
goofball glitzy gold digger girlfriend giggles

dusting stale portrait
graying visage from my past
gilds blithe memories
romance stilled in time capsule
shadows my jealous lover

The fiery orb now grows in warmth slowly,
Liquid gold, limpid glows,
Gilds lank skies in godlike pose,
Dispels grief and human woes.

From the ivory heights of heaven
I am catapulted down
To the bottom side of Nothing
Where envy gilds my crown—
Separation, subjugation,
Force my frantic frown.

dawn’s gold dust gilds the plants
color blast unfurls the cute buds
sparkling spring’s splendid canvas
I see painted in mystique meadow
beguiles me as I saunter entranced

Your
allure
draws
the tide
to the shore.
Ripples
sigh
secrets
of the sea;
lyrical love
sweeps and seeps..
as stars
like
fireflies
wow the skies,
a moon-
beam
gilds the
waves.

How precious the November sun
that gilds the leaves with its low beam
and lights the last geraniums.
A few remaining roses gleam
and shimmer on their stems.
So for a while summer seems
to linger in the suburbs.

white fog
blue shadow
wind blown
chimney pots:
swirling smoke
clings
and gilds
the spires
in grey
despair,
dusk
lowers its
curtain
early

SIJO
When morning gilds the sky it will chase away the night
The darkness will be dispelled by the light of the morning sun
Then the dastardly deeds done by man will be revealed

a gold leaf moon - gilds the night
and dwarfs the stars - in the sky
in the pale glow - of her face
scores of bat pups - learn to fly

Tracks lead down a dusty memory lane
adorned with trails of dreams I've left behind
Balmy vapours rise, sweetly intertwined with the
surreal patchwork of gold and shade
soft beauty of morning light
gilds the fragrant blooms, cascading down,
in a vision of springtime splendor

The woman of the web weaved words
Captivating of the heart and mind,
Ensnaring every atom of the senses,
Trapping sparks of love of humankind.
And gladly gilds a graciousness of glass
A mental mirror mindful of reflection,
Upon her sensual strands beloved stays,
A soul she mesmerised with sheer affection.

"All a man really wants, is a girl who looks good in a bikini." - Jack Freestone
Hot white sand sticks,
tingles the salacious sense
of beach-braced feeling,
clad in skimpy bikini.
Out of the blue the golden sun gilds
the skin unconcealed,
lubricious assets fix attention focus,
the imagination latitude narrows.
The construct of the consummate mind,
the unsculpted bikini body beguiles.

Under the glow of a golden moon,
my garden hedge morphed into a maze.
And a brisk breeze gathered fallen leaves;
crafting a colorful mosaic.
Where the statue of an Angel stands,
the glitter of gold catches my eye.
For beaming from an ebony sky,
moonlight gilds its alabaster wings.
These well-orchestrated illusions
opened my heart to wonder and awe.
Grateful that in that moment, Nature
chose to share Her artistry with me.

Blank verse
Rising from oblivion,
Sol sears the fringes of night.
And gilds the edge of the Earth,
with His chariot ablaze.
Searing tongues of crimson flame
lick a scarlet horizon.
And the shadows of darkness
disperse with the birth of dawn.
A star-studded ebony
morphs into a sky of blue.
And the cotton-candy clouds
acquire a light pinkish hue.
Color untangles from black;
as shadows reclaim their shape.
And a lone pine, bristles, with
needles of emerald green.

Blank verse
compelled each day to plod that beach
her dazzlings - quite beyond my reach
those eyes like jade and deep as death
that whispered “come” in witching breath
soft-danced, those briny bullions rolled
bright cresting swells with coins of gold
that she claimed hers to snatch and save
such wealth, that girl beneath the waves …
that wealth now gilds … her lovers’ graves.
