These faces from deep within the roots,
Their lines pointed and drawn
     etched with laughs and grins,
Folks for sure.
Homeness and neighborhood
Gelled musically to sights of friends....

Master Hands
bricks lay scattered,
cement piled up bad,
the mason was ill trained,
and was a new lad,
he knew nothing,
and could not begin anything,
came the master craftsmen,
and the bricks themselves walked to places,
cement gelled with water,
and leaped to seal,
the building shaped,
and no longer was a dream....

Growing Too Fast
Time stopped,
I did not,
grew in length,
breadth
and depth,
depth drilled like hell,
ripping in duties,
smashing in relations,
and leaving a load of burden,
I was more worried than free,
depreciation was faster,
and priorities changed,
I swelled,
gelled,
and swelled,
was about to burst,
fortunately stopped time lunged ahead....

A Tear
A tear is a gentle way
Of showing how I felt today
It’s hard to speak as well
When on our mate-ship I do dwell

And my running tear
That I did fear
Showed to the world
How our mate-ship gelled

So farewell until the dawn
When you will greet me on that morn
And you and I will smile again
Such friendships can have no other end.

Coffee With Linda Marie
The bright crisp morning near the sea
When I met the extraordinaire Linda Marie

The coffee shop with its sunny atmosphere
Was an apt spot for this meeting of the year

We both gelled together at once
As if planned by someone in advance

We talked of poetry and poets
And everything that was of interest

A meeting of a lifetime for me
To finally meet my idol over coffee

For Michael J. Falotico’s contest, ‘First words over Coffee’...

The first time I laid eyes on beautiful him I was on my way to work
only fifteen years of age sober with a heart that longed to be taken
Each morning I said hello my tongue glued and my eyes gelled. I
knew he had it bad when he let the bus go by and waited for me.
that smile could melt the sun and bring it back again, and again.

Forty five years later still married to my one and only glove fit man
he brings me flowers from the garden every day. He's my Sun-ray....

Lava Truth
Felled in the form and gelled in indescribable,
It was a conundrum quite unfathomable,
Some chemicals reacted on its fibres,
A reaction took place in its innards,
and laughed at scared cowards,
who had shrunk and sprung back,
as if running with their ruck sacks,
the lava spewed from the volcano,
rammed in constantly dismembering form,
all that came in its way was torn,
some truths are like lava,
they simply sear through,
make culprits hurry and attention all drew....
