Dear Journal 2-12-19
Frozen rain eats away at my morning energy, a soft malaise coating my tongue, maligning my words, reducing me to gelatinous failure....

Two Flames
With gelatinous kiss inside his mind
The sissy itchy lips of a woman flirt
God has given them the right to wink
Ah, two flames in love, with a smell
Of sparkling wine and rugged cigars...

Eating Away
I collected my fears in a jar,
set them on the window sill
and watched as the sun melted them
into a mass of gelatinous doubt

Spread them on my toast
and consumed them -
before they consumed me...

Sea Anemones Invaded the Cedars
In the spring rain,
the cedars bear alien fruit:
gelatinous growth
like orange sea anemones,
slimy creatures whose
slippery tendrils quiver
sporeful
revolting and fascinating
life
fills all niches

My Blobs
Two gelatinous
blobs. Each is repelled
by the other's strong
surface tension. They
fight for possession.

One is of good,
the other evil.
A balance is
missing. They fight.

Off of each
other they
ricochet.

They share
the throne:

Life....

Biography of a Man
Biography of a Man

We are creatures
atop and below
whose ancestors joined
long ago.

Slimed together
in gelatinous
biological glue
swallowed into
the maw of an elastic fish.

I don't know why
I think myself alive,
I,
suffused among
masses of
soft automata,
each with its own god,
can hear the pumps
and wonder....

Traveling Light
Unburdened by mass,
star born
photons
hurtle
through vacuum voids.

They reach a planet
where green continents swim
in blue oceans.
It is night. A woman
looks up at the sky.

The photons travel
through the gelatinous matter
of her eye and die
on her retina,
sparking electric pulses
that race
along the optic nerve,
and her miraculous brain
translates:
I see a star....

Oh what a sad sight When I went to the beach tonight Twelve jellyfish washed up on the beach Caught out by the tide, the sea's out of reach Like transparent gelatinous dinner plates lying on the sand The swirling tide confused them – now they've died on dry land received N/A in Out of Water contest - Sponsor said it was due to a technical glitch 18th June 2014

My Blue Cheese Is
I remember the day I ate a whelk,
A day I'll not forget.
Like chewing on a leather belt,
I broke into a sweat.

Sticky bits and slimy stuff
Were clinging to my teeth.
Nearby was an empty sink,
Much to my relief.

Over I went, spat it out
And could scarce believe my eyes,
That gelatinous mess made me puke,
It's whelks that I despise.
