Jellyfish

Oh what a sad sight When I went to the beach tonight Twelve jellyfish washed up on the beach Caught out by the tide, the sea's out of reach Like transparent gelatinous dinner plates lying on the sand The swirling tide confused them – now they've died on dry land received N/A in Out of Water contest - Sponsor said it was due to a technical glitch 18th June 2014

Dear Jan, It's awful to see any creature dying this way. Reminds me of a time I saw a seahorse struggling to get back into the ocean. Jellyfish sometimes see human flesh as their "dinner plates." :D What a remarkable poem! Only a kind soul like yours could be concerned by the plight of a jellyfish. Love, Carolyn

I was just so shocked to see them Carolyn really far away from the sea they must have been caught out by a change in the tide and sadly they all perished. hugs as ever Jan xxx

I thought that's what must have happened Tim. I've seen the odd one on the beach but these were so high up the beach they must have got caught out suddenly. Hugs as ever Jan xxxx

It was so tragic to see Casarah sadly too late to do anything to help them but all 12 of them were in very close proximity so must have all died together - they ranged in size from a large dinner plate size to a small side plate. Hugs as ever Jan xxxx
