I’m no one so
I held him
I kissed him
I killed him now
I have no place to go
except
the space between spaces
the consolation of seeing the colors
he stumbled over colors....

Hallelujah
Handel’s great masterpiece
High sopranos soar and
Hold long notes: “King of Kings!”
Hundreds join in chorus.
Hear the jubilant fugue,
Hearts and voices sing “And
He shall reign forever.”

now for
my next
trick i
will not
one nor two
but three
yes you
heard that
right folks
three

i will
simultaneously write
three
poems not one
at a time

the same
time reminding you
i once did
while dumbly staring
at work
write a fugue...

Giddy Grinner
written by Fugue De Adagio

A want to belong
a need to be loved
does these positions
leave one to be
used and exploited

the soothing simplicity of a kiss
a warm endearing embrace
a smile's expression says it all
a moment between lovers
the time together beats all

at last

the wall is broken
dam burst
words silver chiming fish rush through
surging against the current
reaching for clarity

spin a garment of ideas
long trapped in the obscure mind
mute no more
the task to encompass change
that crept into reality as a fugue state
dissipates...

A faint and fading filigree
adorned the fairy flute.
Forbidden at the funeral,
forever to transmute.

No fugue to usher in the Fates,
flying from frozen lands;
No notes their memories to erase:
mere footprints in the sand.

A Bach Fugue
A contrapuntal harmony made from pure
singing mathematical light.
The music cannot be denied,
it flows on like a silk dragon
over rolling savanna.
The hairs in my ears begin to dance,
the notes are calling out prismatic stars,
not the ones we see
but suns born in the shadowy cells
of our own fallen angels....

Requiem of the Storm
The piano tune descends, Increasing the sound of the wind. Fierce gusts intertwine, With the crows raucous fugue. The intense melody sustains, As melancholic winds rage: In the strong wind's dirge. The bench overturns, As music sheets scatter. A mass of wind reverberates, In the sonata of the breeze.

In the Face of Rage
I amble along paths
rutted deeply
In the life
that I have fashioned.

All pine for sunny days
of warmth and hope, but now
an aura tinged with fugue supplants
and haunts me with its specter.

For in the end, what I desire
simply does not matter. The fuse
is lit; the bomb goes off, and pieces
of me now are lying everywhere....

Whispering Memories
whispering memories of times ago
when days seemed slow to me.
I feel a fugue a solemn mood,
a deep sad cut in the nights copper colored
fabric born on a lazy breeze.
I cannot smile can,t chance the while,
can,t see the where,
only feel that there was more to see,
but then i just forgot.
Forgot to know the where to go,
yes i just forgot....

Premium Member A Fugue of Passing Fancies
an orchestrated night glitters
to the wand wave of the maestro unborn
sweetness licks on liquorice sticks
fingered on silver keys

the moon melts like a honey drop
as sopranos sing

in harmony the coyote calls
base notes cajoled by passing horns
meld as cicada rub the reeds
legging each sharped phrase
with intonations of delight...

A Bach Fugue
The music cannot be denied,
it unwinds like an articulated dragon
through a metallically ringing void.
Then there is the silk serpent
hidden in the driving engine
the closed-eyed coiling.

The hairs in my ears dance;
the notes are calling out stars;
not the ones we see,
but dark stars
born in the disheveled rooms
of fallen angels....

Tears In The Wind

Left hand deftly fingering strings on frets,
While my right hand is picking or strumming.
Composing a sad song about regrets
And searching a melody by humming.
I easily find a chord progression,
Played in a melancholy minor key,
Then add some dynamics for expression--
Reaching a fugue-like state releases me
Fleeting perfection is my endeavor.
Like tears in the wind, now lost forever....

Burnt Verse: Patchwork
A glowering patchwork of a man
          Chin like the Yucatan
Edges his oak-soaked way toward me
          Imitating nightmares
Bitter cedar emanating from him
          In cringing solvent snares

On his lips is a fusion of shame
          In cauterising flame
Falling porcelain leaves surround us
          Autumn exudes the past
The fugue of memory no chasm
          Our speech returns at last...

Harden Street, 1958 (Part Four)
con't

The damn memories
are still so clear.

And now I am alone,
the only one left
because my brother
sliced his neck
in what has become
a family tradition,
that is, to leave
of your own volition.

If I could only get
the reruns to quit
maybe my goddamned
head wouldn't split

and I wouldn't feel so

fragmented

broken into a million
disassociated pieces
in a fugue
until it ceases....

An Inflammatory Condition
Hours nibble at a back strain. Tenuous strings were tugged lifting water bottles. You wonder how weak and fragile you are. How vulnerable to those ancient red tides within that can bend your iron like plasticine, turn you into a crooked question mark. Quartered by straining horses, neural fibers alliterate a thrumming fugue upon a desiccated elastic band; one now stretched far too taut.

Sensual as my dreams she enters me
with a silent roar pinned between
two amber eyes of dissociative chit
I can feel her constitution her fugue
of dissociation, she is but an echo
of my pulsing memory and heart abode

She is the lioness inside of me
 her
            roar,
is the pantomimed hope of my
well being and solemn oath of
            sanity.

Analgesia
I come back to these scribbles
jotted down in broken verse
   of when I felt.
When my body burned with passion and rage
when my loins ached or my heart broke.

Revisiting the epoch of life
trying to re-assemble the shape of those energies.

Yet I am still numb.

Apathetic and drifting on analgesia
the medicine my hysterias sought.

Humanity leached into distance and fugue.
Desensitized to the state of existence.
I cease to be me....

The Evenings
I sit tethered to my internet, my red wine and fugue
….and wonder

When last did I dance in the moonlight
with skin bare open to damp of night
swaying to symphony of insects serenading infinity?

When last did I languish in a moment of sultry heat and cool relief?

My flesh aches waiting for a moment of real release...

I want to lay on earth and watch the circulation of constellations,
feel the swell of her energy float me above this plane......
