A Hole In My Noggin

Gazing at the rear of my head
Many follicles are long since dead
Father Time is always sure to win
These naps are lookin' awful thin
Shall I shave my dome instead?
Form: Limerick

Bald Facts

Hair today, gone tomorrow,
My follicles falling to my sorrow,
Ten thousand dollars to my surgeon,
Some people think I might be splurgin',
But I can't wait for my new hair to grow.

The Red Head

The Red Head
Dr. James E. Martin
©January, 2014

She considers herself a red.
Who knows the color of her head?
Many dyes she’d used,
Her follicles abused,
Was she really a blonde instead?
Form: Limerick

Obstacles

OBSTACLES
There are so many obstacles
How can we overcome to reach the impossibles
Do you have to anything to replace follicles
I will give you all of the popsicles

Squawk

Squawk! Beetle in your follicles.
Angry molecules.
I want bugs everywhere!
Haha! Please share!
It’s just a barrette?
Regret! Regret!
But I still want to flail.
Howling quail.
Beetle on my mind.
To find.
Fix your hair, girl.
Beetle in the curl.

Spring Rain

The air is thick and sweet
with the promise of spring rain,
and a slight breeze nips at a
lock of my hair,
coaxing it out of its neat bun.
The cool prickle of raindrops
on my skin is familiar,
and I watch as the droplets
on my arm get caught in a maze
of hair follicles before slipping
off toward the ground
beneath me.

Eye of the Advancing X'Er

Older
Not any more wiser
Slower
my feet cannot run that 100 mile dash no longer
Vision
It is getting blurry with each passing day
I will no longer whine
It is the inevitable aging time
God has spoken
The Graying follicles have awoken
An x'er to face
the advancing years without elegance or grace
ARE YOU GETTING THERE TOO??

Epiom of Truth

...And then the shedding of the realism's dream,
it's loose follicles scattered loosely abroad;
we travelers leave a little piece behind,
skin, eye lash, dream;
...it is the memory that survives.

It is cast drifting in wind, your particles;
kissing your passerby, your followers,
we share ourselves with all who dwell,
those who hate, only hate themselves.

The lyric deft and yet bereft, its logic baldly doffed: an heir in err, a progeny ‘twas not untimely off’d. In aggregate, the follicles that sprout the facial hair, protrude a plain that’s primed for pain, as microbes nestle there. To mow the glade with steely blade creates a field of woe; the pain-free knight, his own mote smites, so mites midst hair might grow.

It Visited Me At Last

It visited me at last,
The one which I loath to call on,
Even for my worst enemy,
Like a plantain stem fallen on its sword on bed.
Trembling,shivering,
Unable to walk,
unable to sit,
unable to think,
Unable to breath,
Oh! the tip of my tiny hair follicles,
crying song of pain,
sure, I will come back strong,
But can't vanish without a note,
Goodnight PS,
At least for a fortnight.

Insane

Melting down, crossing barriers, breaking out, stepping around.
Pieces fragmenting,character
isolating.
Green-acid,hair follicles,
white is the blank slate, painting blues with reds.
Freaks from a sideshow,
muscles in the sea;
six-packs in a grog-shop,
dancing improperly.
Beguiled by your bounce,sleep-walking this town.
Fine is the white wine,
poisoning the liver, spining on a sixpence.

The Delivery

Up I looked into the pregnant sky,
and she delivered to me
existence.

It seeped into my scalp,
darkening the clustered follicles.
It danced down the deep curvatures of my neck,
discovering the virgin forests of my skin.
Through my pores, the dirt, the sweat,
it made a map out of me.

And yet,
and yet, I cannot read-
cannot follow evaporating squiggles-
Fate's writhing pen in the form of rain.

They Flock In Groups of Three

They flock in groups of three
and feast on shattered molecules.
They nag at your shoestrings,
waiting
for the moment you become vulnerable.
They will gnaw at your pulsating membranes,
leave a mangled carcass,
and consider their next victim.
They thrive between the living and the dead,
unsure of which path to pursue,
and as their claws rot and
their follicles disintegrate,
they will regret every moment
of their cancerous lives.

Premium Member Brake

Willows wheeze while traders weep A head for softer shoulders grasped Spread another bid too deep On margin calling crumpled dreams collapsed Umbrellas saved the follicles While frozen feet alarmed by sudden cold Observe the blaze advanced to diabolical All paper perished, all future visions sold Jackals trace the wall of worry Dining on the furtive few Until at last the feast of falling flurry All pensioners resolve eschewed

Not Again

The worst day
To ever sprout
From the depths of Hade
Could not begin to express
How he made me feel.

Who would have guessed?
Sure,
He had follicles
That put even the most
Gorgeous
Flaming
Queen to shame.

And it’s true
I envies his
Soft,
Velvet smooth,
Shining skin.

I put my heart on the line
And to have it come back
With a letter of
Reject

I’m crushed,
Cold, and
 Consumed with the dreams
Of the past.

Now, I watch
As he shimmies by
With his bedazzled
Ass.

Premium Member Bullfrogs In the Belfry Get It On

Bullfrogs in the belfry – get it on.
Butterflies sipping tea – get it on.
Bananas making bread – get it on.
Bubbles beyond belief – get it on.
Bare bottoms bumping blue birds – get it on.

Got on it – hair follicles parading past ferris wheels.
Got on it – hungry appetite hurrying onto subways.
Got on it – helpful hints scurrying onto freight cars
Got on it – hilarious hippos stomping through a zoo.
Got on it – hugs all around for the USA, red, white and blue.

In the Sun the Moon the Stars

I do not trust my form,
to act as an adequate vehicle to carry my Love for You.
It aches with decadence and decomposition.

Skins cells flake in exhaustion,
Hair follicles abort out of fatigue
Finger nails and toes nails crack , peel and tear.

Bones creak in warning,
Muscles retreat in lethargy
Skin hangs, falls and sags.

So I place my Love in the sun,
the moon,
the stars,
the grass,
the leaves.

So that I may continue to adore you in everything,
with everything.
