Friends

Few and far between are people who are our
Real friends.
It is good for
Each of us to have at least one who is there when we
Need them. Someone we can
Depend on when the times are good or bad and
Someone we can take at their word.

Miles

Meetings that seem so few and far between,
Indefinite dates, incomplete plans.
Lost and broken promises, where the truth is never what it seems.
Endless conversations that are merely keyboards and hands.
Soulless hollow smiles in pictures that will never seem complete.

Premium Member Mundane Necessities

Food
Water
Electricity
A refrigerator
Air-conditioning and heat
A comfortable bed
These are just a few...
Of many mundane necessities
Readily available to us
Things we Americans
Take for granted
On a quotidian basis
Sadly so few and far between
In third-world countries

Premium Member A Green Light Prayer

Bogged down at a red light.
At Ascension cemetery and St. Mary's drive
I gazed a graveside service.
The mourners spaced few and far between,
mostly in black-still as wet granite.
All were covid masked... properly.

The newly departed performed social distancing-flawlessly.
My prayer was answered when the light turned halo green.

The times are few and far between
When I just play and you just sing
And in those times, at least for me
Exist tacit moments of pure esprit
Did you ever have the perfect day,
One that you didn't want to fade away?
If I could freeze a moment there
I'd save it for my future fare
Recalling to my heart's delight
While never having to requite

Premium Member Not a Bad Bone

Not a bad bone.

I can see it in their smile.

Never wished any bad feeling on anyone seen through their eyes

I truly do admire them though they’re few and far between

Never an Ill word and the complete opposite of mean

Not a bad bone. Not a dull smile.
Some people are just born good and live their life dishing good out.

Not a bad bone.

Time Alone

Physical pleasure, what is it?
Can you describe it?
It’s been so long,
So few and far between.
I cannot help but think
That I will lose it,
But how can one so lose
What’s never been?

How time has slipped
Its fingers in between us.
The cursed, wretched fingers
Disturbing lives
How does it justify
Its very purpose,
To separate the husbands
From the wives?

Premium Member Precious Moments

Time spent with you is so precious to me
Few and far between are the moments where we
Have a cup of coffee, take a little ride
Play both of our guitars, sit down side by side
But I'll take every instant whenever it may come
And cherish every second with you, my lovely one
If you call long distance, I'll ask you where you are
Then walk across the desert, no distance is too far

Premium Member Come Fill The Cup

Possible TV advertising for a certain kind of "donation" center…
or for guys who might be looking for "gig" employment…with apologies, dear readers...this one's a bit "naughty".

If your bills are getting to you,
The IRS is trying to screw you,
Jobs are few and far between,
And you need to make some green,
You've already sold your hair,
And you've no more blood to spare,
Come where a wank
Will put cash in the bank.

Premium Member Shooting Stars

Endlessly
     captivating.
          I mean...

the shooting stars
     darting across the...
          blackboard sky

Stunning
     Magical
          I love...

watching it
     in motion
          with childlike wonder,

with such rapt attention
     So...
          few and far between!

Burn Out

Sometimes I Have a Smile
But Lately It's Been Rare
I'm Not Even Too Sure Why
Or Even If I Care

I Have Too Much to Think about
And Don't Know Where to Start
I'm Pulled in Different Directions
Concerning Affairs of the Heart

My Mind Begins to Wander
Back to Happier Times
But They Were Few and Far Between
Even They Seem Hard to Find

I Don't Know What to Do
Or Which Way to Turn
Sometimes I Feel the Thing to Do
Is Simply Crash and Burn

Premium Member Out of This World

Another day gone
I come home
And see you standing there

Arms open wide
You hold me like
I've been away for years

Moon light glow
First thing I know
your touch takes me away

Love so sweet
Leading me
Right through heaven's gates

It's out of this world
What you do to me
Angels like you
Are few and far between

No one else on earth
Loves me like you girl
Your rush is out of this world

Logic

The realization of a dream,
Is something many experience,
To witness a nightmare though,
Few wish to receive,
IF everyone got their way,
The world as we know it would be in chaos,
To feel coldness, True coldness,
No-one as of yet has the pleasantries,
To hold something dear is not selfish,
To want something more is expected,
Having nightmares are few and far between,
But the realization of having a dream,
Is something many have and will experience.

Maybe

Maybe we are trying to hard not to try
Maybe things are supposed to be this way
With me and you, you and I
But Baby who's to say?

How two people so different can be so much alike
is something I'm not used to
True friendships are few and far between
And I believe ours is the farthest from true

So scared to admit what would seem like defeat
From this time-hardened exterior of my heart
You make me vulnerable without trying
When usually from people I drift apart

Skin and Bones

I think I'm numb to the core,
right down to the bones.
I think I've given up too much,
I'm only left in skin and bones

I think I let you have me,
I think I gave too much.
I think I've not much left
'cept another cigarette puff.

Naked to the world to see.
So naked and bare,
invisible,
rarely I can see me.

Moments of clarity,
few and far between.

Strength, I search everyday.
In your smile,
in mine,
sadness is all I ever find.

It's all just so mean.

Miracle

When I first met you I never imagined I'd fall
So fast in such a short time
I never dreamed I'd have you or even call you
Mine
Though our time is few and far between it's a
Miracle it would seem
You've brought my smile my laughter back in
Me
Made me see how life should be
You've been there for moments I thought would
Have chased you away
But there you are with your it's okay Tomorrow
Is a new day
You truly are a dream come true
I'd be so lost without you

Pb & J

PB & J

when the bucks are
running few and far between
and my ribs are starting
to poke through my skin
there's one way I can win

only then will the old faithful
peanut butter and jelly
sandwich pull me through

it's too hard to feel blue
when your belly is full
of something that you've eaten
since you were two

screw all of you
with your fancy meals
peanut butter and jelly
seals the aches and
 pains of this tummy
just like mummy
 used to make
