Notes About The Poem

End

News

Never has the world seemed so dire
Needless pain and crying every place I look
Nestled pieces of peace are few and far between,
Nightly news tells one happy story
Near the end of the half-hour as if to gladden our hearts-
Nope, the restless fear remains like heroine
Needing to find a needle for the next fix.
