Rest In Peace, Dear Friend
Flowers wilt
Dead carcasses are buried
Loved ones mourn

Rest in peace,
Your life on earth is no more…
Farewell, friend...

And many a path shall we meet
Those that we shall soon forget
And those that shall forever be
Etched upon heart and memory...

Premium Member The Bad Egg and the Good Friend
There once was a bad egg named Drew
Who had a good friend he knew

He said, “I can’t tell,
If I’m going right to hell”

“But if I am, will you visit me too?”...

My friend
I can't see you in the darkness
but your voice is faint
I reach my hand out
in the direction your cadence emanates
alas
your call is replaced by the wind...

L Milton Hankins
Since Milton left us,
my great friend at Poetry Soup,
I am not comfortable with his absence.
I don't believe in deities or the beyond,
to me it seems like nonsense.
but if there's anyone I'd like to talk to again,
surely Milton would be that man....

Silent Echoes
A friendship lost in shades gone grey..
A bond dissolved, no words convey.
Silent echoes haunt the void..
The silence, i hoped, could be destroyed.

But bridges burned, beyond repair..
My heart remains in despair.
Once entwined, now torn apart..
You chose to lie, and broke my heart....

Tribute To Kenrick Garcia
Today I heard you pass
Those words RIP
Broke my heart
There was nothing much I could have said,
Except rest in peace my dear friend.

I wish, I could have held your hand
I would have liked to say farewell
But I could not get to you in time
So with these words I write
Farewell my loving friend....

Premium Member Dance, For Helen
You, beautiful one,
Aware of mind's inner space,
But travelling, thrilling to movement.
Tiny jokes and masked meanings
The place you played.
You undid models
Like a child making games,
The barrier behind unvisited.
Hold up your arms
And dance!
Death's not erased the past and
Is not the end of music....

An Ode To Nothing
Ah, nothing.
So glorious and divine,
As if it doesn’t exist.

My friend, here we are,
You and me to be,
An adventure awaits us.

Here and there nothing lays about,
Everything’s gone and disappeared,
No words to be said,
No good nor bad, just emptiness.

My friend, here we are,
You and me to be,
We are who we are,
We are nothing,
As if we don’t exist....

Thinking of You Harry Horsman
The Winds of change have come again.
To think we've lost another friend.
It grieves my heart, you left so soon.
I read your blog this afternoon.
A better place you've journeyed to.
God Speed Harry, thinking of You.

Dedication to Harry Horsman.
My condolences to his family.
Also want to thank Mandy a
True friend of Harry's for
informing us...

To a Departed Friend
The Moon is fulsome and low tonight.
Perchance we shall converse in its light.
Are you near within reach,
And discerning of my speech?
My friend, back many years from here.
And gone now, though heled so dear.
Past now into that dark Defile,
Where I may not venture, at least for a while.
Pray you will recall this face in detail,
When happily we meet on a familiar trail....

Farewell, Friend

To heaven went our special friend who took his last full breath.

        A Vet who cared for Veterans confined and sick with needs;

donating years to ease their end-of-life process with death-

to die at the same hospice where he granted selfless deeds.

Help Me To Say Good-Bye
Help me to let go God above
show me how to live without
his friendship, his love.

My trembling hands continue
to shake. I don't know where
to place this heartbreak.

Hollow and empty I feel in my
soul. Nothing compares to the
loving feeling that once made
me feel whole.

Arms out reached in longing
desire towards the stars;
I need to feel the healing of
their great fire to remove the
scars.

Hold on to me great spirit in
the sky.
Give me strength to say good-bye....

Premium Member Days In the Thunder Where Everything Was Raw
You may one day remember the time you chose to forget

You may remember we fought side by side my friend

You may never remember the battle cry of war

Those days in the thunder where everything was raw

I hope that you remember how brave you were before

They took your mind away in the cold theatre of war

Goodbye my friend forever, for I can't live anymore

They took a lot from us!

Nothing's left for us no more.

Goodbye my old friend,

Goodbye, my comrade in war....

Fleeting
There is a brilliant sun setting on the horizon.
I wipe tears from my eyes, and watch in a strange sense of awe.
The sun kisses everything with it’s radiating beams
and then disappears from view.
It reminds me that,
like many things in life,
these serenely beautiful moments are often fleeting.
Words are left unsaid, moments forgotten, lives lost.
But, in those quiet moments,
when I feel the sun's warmth on my face,
I know you're sending me a smile and lighting up my life, once again....
