Notes About The Poem

Note: He was our neighbor. And he was a medic during the Vietnam war. He volunteered serving veterans at nursing homes and hospices through the years, but more so, since his recent retirement from work and received many citations for his amazing service. He passed away on March 17, 2019, at age 64, at one of the local hospices where he served, due to pancreatic cancer diagnosed less than a year ago.

Farewell, Friend


To heaven went our special friend who took his last full breath.

        A Vet who cared for Veterans confined and sick with needs;

donating years to ease their end-of-life process with death-

        to die at the same hospice where he granted selfless deeds.
