Along life's cycles grew my rundown tree
It's roots charting young love that drained away;
Where branches limp no longer fancy-free
To wane against past ardent summer day.
bare autumn trees frowned - all their colorful leaves lay on the ground
autumn holds them at bay – cold winter winds want to come out to play
seasonal work suited autumn to a tee - rest of year fancy free

Is my breath
upon your list
Is my thought
thoughts I’ve made for you
Is the desire
eternal flame burning in me
Is the touch
forlorn hope, lament for the beauty
Is the lull
footloose and fancy – free lies in the garden
Is the wholeness
ultimate high, lay it up in lavender.
On the theme of fancy-free
I’ve no rules attached to me
Can write of nonsense if I choose
Or use a hippo as my muse
Can write all day or not at all
Or script about a bar room brawl
It’s fun to sometimes play the clown
With no constraints to weight me down
TODDLER’S TEATIME
Buttered bread spread with juicy jam
Brings back memories of toddler’s teas,
Little lives so simple then,
When we were still young and fancy free.
Tried telling today’s tots;
Gave plum preserve on fresh baked bread.
Grandkids groaned. Want McDonalds Mac!

Freedom fancies thee
Your destiny to see
All that is free
Walk across the water
You can do it
Don’t stand on the fishes head
He wants to be free too, not dead
Walk on hot coal
Boil sin from your soul
Be free like me
I stand tall, solid as a rock bun
Take life a day at a time
Have fun
Among the clouds, today I'll soar
spread my wings and fly
and with the angels I will dance
above the world so high.
My heart will beat a song of joy
my cares will slip away
in my flight, so fancy free
upon the wind, this day.
I am flying home today!
I both love and fear it.
